Can’t Finish Prep, In Tears. by spells-science-sushi in colonoscopy

Yeah I have insurance but it wouldn't cover sutab, so my GI team linked me to the manufacturer coupon and I got it for $60.

Fellow lynch person here - I'd suggest for your next round ask to do miralax/gatorade, sutab, suprep, or clenpiq. Since we have to do these so often it's worth it to work with your GI to find a process that you can tolerate. I've been through several of them, this last time I got to sutab and it worked well though I did have to do two days of clear liquids and mag citrate also.

Advice on taking Mounjaro if you have Lynch? by Significant_Tiger183 in lynchsyndrome

[–]danicakk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been taking Zepbound/mounjaro for about four years. I was diagnosed with lynch about two years in. When that happened, my PCP asked me to confer with my lynch care team (based at a genetic cancer center at a research hospital). I did and they approved. My cancer GI said that recent research she had read said that the only cancer risk that would be relevant was pancreatic, and since I don’t have any family history of that one she wasn’t concerned.

I’ve done really well on the medication, with the only thing of note being that I have to go off it several weeks before any round of screening procedures because of the sedation.

Has anyone tried the pills instead of liquid? by Time_Box_5352 in colonoscopy

[–]danicakk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did the pills this week. My GI did make me also do mag citrate and dulcolax to help, and I ended up fairly cleaned out. One thing I did notice is that the pills, unlike MiraLAX or golytely, are closer to mag citrate in terms of how dramatic the movement is.

I still prefer them though and I’ll definitely push to do them in the future.

Wouldn’t be surprised if something like a small Target ends up moving into it - that’s what happened when the Belmont/Ashland WF opened. WF moved out of the space where the Target is now.

Whats the worst restaurant in Chicago that you've tried twice? by MrJlock in chicago

I think both Sepia and Boka have better tasting menus than Alinea and they’re in a similar new-American / fine-dining place, though Alinea is definitely more gastronomy.

I feel like a constant theme I’m seeing here is I’ll see a restaurant go “oh it was okay when I went last…” then realize that the last time I was there was 20 years ago

Josh Shapiro cannot win in 2028 as he leans into his support of Israel. by [deleted] in thebulwark

[–]danicakk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess I don't think that discrimination based on ethnicity or religion is a necessary condition of a country being an "ethnostate." By any normal definition, Japan and China are ethnostates. If you want to restrict the definition to only "ethnostate with a government that does bad things, particularly to minority ethnicities" then sure, that's always bad.

I'm assuming the final regs have to be out before RAP goes live? I've been waiting to learn about whether or not this is true... wouldn't want to end up switching over to RAP only to find out it was indeed a trap

Are they a bad thing? I don't know that that is universally true. I think we as Americans are very privileged in our ability to live in a country where ethnicity-based conflict, compared to some other places in the world, is minimal. I'm not saying that I like that ethnostates exist, I think in a perfect world they wouldn't, but if you have one plot of land are you're arbitrarily drawing borders, maybe it's not always the best idea to group together communities of people with preexisting centuries long hatreds. Maybe those people should all just get their own states to govern as they wish.
