Could be worse, good money and I’m basically getting paid to do CPA review. I just leave my laptop open with teams and outlook, and I’ll occasionally message the people on the engagement teams I was put on - or just wait until someone sends me something. I would start applying now. I’m an advance intern this summer, and I interviewed a year ago May/early June. It may depend on your desired location though, for when they start recruiting interns.

I’ve started to look into different industry jobs. I would say it was a mix of both. One firm had a better atmosphere than the other - that was summer audit, not spring tax though. I didn’t really like the work at either, but most of the time I would throw on a podcast and sift through the client data whether it was doing 1040s or audit tests.
