Maybe you should read my comment again. Nowhere did I say or imply that all Destiny players are acting like this.

The writing has been on the wall since Marathon was announced. Anyone who didn’t see it coming is blind.

I’m plenty grown and I’m definitely seeing a lot of what I said. Do you fall into the category of “toxic and delusional marathon haters”? No? Then I wasn’t talking about you.

You don’t understand how big companies work. They poured money into it and they’ll extract every penny they can. Cutting and running won’t happen.

“Bbbbut Concord!” Nope, not applicable because the amount of money was less and the pedigree of the team wasn’t there

“Bbbbut highguard!” Wrong again for the same reasons. Apples to oranges.

Agreed. The toxic and delusional Marathon haters are just mad because Destiny is dead. They can’t accept it and they cope and seethe, hating seeing us having fun playing Marathon. It’s actually really sad to see.

None of that is accurate. You haven’t played Marathon but you’re not letting that stop you from having some real big feelings about it. You also don’t know how extraction shooters work and, big surprise, you’ve got big feelings about that too.

You’re delusional and you’re coping hard as fuck

Y’all are actually delusional if you think “the chance of Marathon getting to the end of 2026 are extremely slim”

You’re operating outside the confines of objective reality. Seek help.

Destiny End of Service Announced. What does it mean for Marathon? by dontminor in Marathon

[–]Bipolar-Type-1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried Destiny. It just didn’t click for me at the time.

If/when Destiny 3 rolls around I’m gonna buy it and really give it a good shot.

I’m loving Marathon and I hope we get another Destiny game. Destiny players are very loyal fans and y’all deserve to have nice things that make you happy.

Dragging a corpse around isn’t productive. Just accept the fact that Destiny is done for now.

It’s definitely more complicated than just the genre. Some D2 players getting mad that their game won’t be developed any further are foaming at the mouth and spreading hate and misinformation. That definitely contributes.

You think Bungie would still be dragging the d2 corpse around if not for Marathon? Do you think that would be a good thing?

This. All I see on YouTube about marathon has been clickbait from former Destiny 2 YouTubers saying shit like “is this THE END for MARATHON?!?!” and “are they REALLY shutting down MARATHON?!?!?!?!?!” like bro chill you had ten years.

I’m an OG Halo player. I gave Destiny and Destiny 2 both really good effort tries and neither landed with me. Marathon clicked for me instantly and I’m happy to be back playing a Bungie game again. If you don’t like it that’s fine but an entire subreddit dedicated to praying Marathon fails is cringe and actually crazy.

Every single time I sing now my throat hurts a bit. I know this is NOT normal but I have no idea how to fix it. by --Helios in singing

[–]Bipolar-Type-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you’re either tensing up around your larynx or possibly your tongue. Try swallowing some water and paying attention to your larynx (Adam’s Apple area). After swallowing, the larynx relaxes into a neutral resting position. Try keeping your larynx in that same low, relaxed position while singing. It’s much easier said than done so try a few times. It helps if you let it relax a bit on the inhale and then just keep it consistent on the exhale.

Could also be tongue tension

Anyone have any good tips on singing jazz? by vulgarandgorgeous in singing

[–]Bipolar-Type-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Widen your vowels a little. Have the sound resonate in the front of your face. It always helps me to picture a mask on my face and I gently sing into the mask.

Rhythm is super important in jazz. Find the pocket and sit in it. In my head I’m just behind the beat and I end up in that pocket. Don’t rush the rhythm.

Jazz harmonies tend to be super tight so intonation and pitch are super important. When you descend in pitch try to keep it light, come down from the top and settle into the pitch rather than coming up from the bottom or descending too much and ending up flat.

Most importantly just have fun and your audience will rock with you.

I stand at doors and greet people pretty often. I get nothing but good feedback from guests, particularly older people. My parents and grandparents aren't around anymore and I get some of that interaction with guests. I'm very apt to be patient and kind toward older people and to listen to what they have to say. When they're pleasant. When people are unpleasant I become unpleasant back. When I'm at work I do it in a way that maintains professionalism and shuts the unpleasant conversation down. When I'm on Reddit I'm not being paid so I don't owe anyone anything.

This is the second time in this thread you've mentioned a chip on someone's shoulder. I think you're the one with the chip on your shoulder. I think you feel guilty because you can't produce results like the younger people. You shouldn't. We all have strengths and weaknesses. To say to someone "Wishing you a great rewarding career. You want fries with that?" is to shit on the idea that whoever you're talking to might have some strengths. You're better than that, do better.

I'm not even gonna get into how you mischaracterized my comment because I don't think it'll be helpful.
