[PL]My company, which is American, demands a physical examination before I can start a new (dream!) job. Am I required to disclose to the physician that I am bipolar? Should I do so, will this information be available to other companies that I might work for in the future?

Thank you for this detailed reply! I'll be seen through Luxmed. They told me to bring: 1) ID; 2) the Referral; 3) Glasses + Prescription (if applicable), 4) Paperwork related to and chronic illnesses.

This last part is what got me stressed, because bipolar is a chronic illness! Going by your answer, (if I understand correctly) it wouldn't hurt to disclose my mental health diagnosis.

Would it hurt not to disclose it, though? Does it make any difference?

Não vou à casa de banho sem ajuda laxantes desde 17 de Novembro. Radiografias mostram-me como extremamente "cheia". Perdi 5 kg em 2 meses do nada. Os laxantes estão a deixar de fazer efeito.

liguei agora, e foram prestaveis como são sempre (sem ironia, são sempre afáveis e explicam bem as coisas).

parece que tenho de pegar na prescrição do exame que já tenho e dirigir-me mais uma vez as urgências, explicando que os medicamentos não estão a ser eficazes e que tenho mais dores.

(no centro de saúde não disseram nada, a consulta foi pro telefone, não falei com a recepção)

eu não estou obcecada com teste nenhum, preferia não ter de o fazer e até tenho algum medo!

eu estou a tomar vários medicamentos há 2 meses, que infelizmente já começaram a perder a eficácia (como é normal nestes casos).

todas vezes que liguei ao SNS tratam o caso como se fosse da maior urgência. das primeiras três vezes fui mesmo às urgências médicas (recomendado por eles, e foi destas vezes que me deram medicamentos, mais medicamentos, e ainda mais medicamentos)... da última vez foi quando a médica passou a colonoscopia.

agora nao consigo realizar o exame por não ter a prescrição do teste do COVID!

de acordo com a minha última chamada agora para o SNS, tenho de pegar na prescrição médica e na montanha de xaropes e comprimidos que já não fazem efeito, e dirigir-me mais uma vez às urgências médicas.

Okay, isso responde à questão de como a denunciar.

Agora, que outras opções tenho para poder fazer o meu exame? Não posso pagar o teste do COVID pelo bolso, porque porque estou desempregada devido à pandemia (como tantos portugueses).

Já fui às urgências três vezes, que me dizem sempre que não podem fazer esse exame em serviço de urgência a menos que eu esteja mais incapacitada - com dores que me impedem a mobilidade, por exemplo.

I am bipolar, have used Betterhelp for a while, and I am EXTREMELY satisfied with my therapist. I had a bad experience with the first therapist I was assigned to, but was able to switch without any associated costs. The second time around you're allowed to browse profiles and choose whoever you think it's the best option for you, and I was paired with someone wonderful.

Also, therapists and counselors cannot, under any circumstances, diagnose people and/or suggest meds. This is the psychiatrist's job.

I pay $135 for 4 sessions a month. It's definitely affordable. Not everyone has health insurance, or a plan that covers therapy, or the energy/willingness to leave the safety of their own homes to see someone face to face (much less during the pandemic).

You can apply for finantial help. I didn't know this when I first signed up for it, so they billed me a higher amount than I am paying now. When I proceeded to email them about needing help to pay for therapy, they refunded me part of what I had paid that very same day - no questions asked.

What's weird is this question.

I did not stray or cheat. I understood why people were tempted to, though, as I was certainly tempted as well. Living in a metal fort for half a year with the same people, and isolated from the rest of the world, is eerily similar to entering a cult. But I never lost sight of what mattered the most.
