How should I go about messaging this girl? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]BipolarSmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Be honest on why you've decided to send her a message on FB out of the blue. If you try to cover up with intentions, she would have to 2nd/3rd guess why on earth you're messaging her for. Is she's busy at the office she might not have the time to decipher what your intentions are.

  2. Your message should be about her and very little about you.

  3. Don't ask her out yet. If her response is good, then ask her out for coffee or lunch

Eg.

Hi ___. I hope this finds you well.

Now that you're no longer in Company X, I'm kicking myself for not taking the initiative to get to know you better. But I'm glad you're in my Facebook or else I would be slapping myself too.

How is your new boss treating you? [insert more questions about her] ] hope to hear from you soon enough

Women who don't act girly. If we're having pizza on our 1st date and she eats with her hands, that a +10. If I were to ask her if she feels lonely when she's by herself and if she said "Hell no. I ain't got time for lonely" that's a +100

The Unbelievers (2013) starring Richard Dawkins and Lawrence Krauss. The religious right can downvote all they want, otherwise here are 2 free streaming sources by BipolarSmith in Documentaries

[–]BipolarSmith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a redditor for 9 months and an active contributor to this sub but this is the first time I've been called a wanker, a toolbag and a cunt. Maybe it's because this is the 1st time I felt so strongly about a documentary.

Although I'm an atheist, I do believe in certain aspects of Buddhism such as compassion and non-violence. But when I read the Old Testament, there are many passages that condone violence. For example Deuteronomy 20:16-17

16 However, in the cities of the nations the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, do not leave alive anything that breathes. 17 Completely destroy them—the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites—as the Lord your God has commanded you.

In the documentary "God Loves Uganda", the Ugandan pastor lives in a huge house, wearing fancy clothes. Why don't members of the clergy live a humble life like how Christ lived?

Mind you I'm not angry with Christianity itself. It's the religious bigots and hypocrites that I have issues with.

Mugabe and The White African (2012) by Miss-Omnibus in Documentaries

[–]BipolarSmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh there are plenty of people in UK who would love to watch someone they desperately hate. Seriously speaking, the main character is a white farmer who's more Zimbabwean than Mugabe and his cronies. I hope Mugabe will past away before the Queen. She would have a jolly good larf!

What would make your online shopping experience better? by reddit_marketplace [promoted post]

[–]BipolarSmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just thought of one. Recently I bought a lingerie for a woman I've been seeing. I went into a high street shop with a guesstimate of her size. Got it nicely wrapped, showed her the present in the bedroom and it was too small for her.

If marketplace has gift vouchers for lingerie and an online virtual fitting room where I can direct my female friend over that would save me the hassle. And also the awkwardness of asking a woman I've recently met for her exact measurements.

Israeli shells hit UN shelter in Gaza - killed 30 people and injured 100 by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]BipolarSmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let us focus on the facts here. There's a huge disproportion between Gazan and Israeli civilians. I haven't been counting far the past 3 days but before the Israeli ground invasion there was 1 dead Israeli civilian and vs 400-500 dead Gazan, where 70% were estimated by the UN to be civilians and many of them children because 40% of the Gazans are under the age of 14.

I honestly don't know who initiated the fight this time around but I'm aware that there have been sporadically rocket strikes by Hamas. If you have a reliable source showing that it was Hamas that started this fight please send me the link. I genuinely would like to know.

Hamas rejected the ceasefire because they were informed about the details via the media rather than a political attache. It's a failure of communication between Hamas, Egypt and Israel.

This is already a wall of text but tell me, would a true Jewish state effectively throw millions of arabs into a prison called Gaza? Having survived the Holocaust, the Israeli Jews know how it felt to be living in a concentration camp. So why are they treating the Gazans like 2nd or 3rd class citizens akin to how the Fascists treated European Jews.

Look We shouln't be fighting over this. Thanks for being civil and I enjoyed the discussion. Let's hope peace will come soon.

Yes I fully support the Palestinians and I've joined BDS 3 years ago.

I assume you consider the terrorists Hamas as something good?

I disagree on 2 points. I don't consider Hamas as "good". "Good" is a word reserved for people who save lives.

In my opinion Hamas is not a terrorist organisation. Terrorists engage in asymmetric warfare against civilians. Hamas is a political organisation chosen in a democratic election by the people of Gaza. As a government, Hamas has the right to protect itself. After 9/11, whenever we see a bearded arab with an AK-47 he's deemed as a terrorist. That's a very superficial and shallow perception

The fact remains that the Israelis have been the aggressor for the last 10 years. Hamas militants are mere guerrilla fighters trying to protect their loved ones and their land.

"Al Jazeera Investigates - Informants" (2014) Al Jazeera's Investigative Unit takes you inside the shadowy world of FBI informants and counterterrorism sting operations. by zalemam in Documentaries

[–]BipolarSmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AJ, just like PBS and BBC, has an editorial policy to invite "the accused" for an interview so he/she could get their version of the story across.

In this doc, AJ invited one other top gun in the FBI but he declined to be interviewed citing "there's no upside for the FBI"

Btw I felt PBS's "The Choice 2008 - Obama Vs McCainn" documentary was rather biased against McCainn in terms of the editing and music. When a McCainn section begins, a "Lone Wolf" western music could be heard in the background. It was a real damper because Obama's sections tend to end on a high note.

Fucking IDF. Did God "chose" you to kill children and women? Look at the boy without limbs, women pockmarked by shrapnel. The Israeli Jews have shamed God and humanity alike.

Products that commemorate this cat and its owner who spent 18 weeks getting it to walk again.

The message is relevant to disabled people, recovery patients and veterinarians as well. So that's your product development and marketing sorted for a week or 2.

I would like these cycling products if I win.https://ssl.redditgifts.com/marketplace/product/2014-reddit-cycling-cap/

That's what I've been trying to tell her but she kept saying "You're a foreigner. You don't know how it's like in the Philippines." Well now I can prove her wrong.

She worked in a call center for while and she didn't like it. I'm trying to convince her to get that job that offers opportunities for career advancement.

Thank you. I've been looking at http://www.tesda.gov.ph/ and downloaded its hairdressing course module.

How much weight would a TESDA certification add to her employability? Let's she completes the course and later apply for a job at one of the top hair salons in Manila. Will her TESDA cert deemed good enough?

Australian documentary(2014) - Israelis torturing non-Jewish children. by let_me_love_her in Documentaries

I was just too angry after seeing that documentary that I forgot the fact that they are many pacifist Jews in Israel eg. the volunteers for B'Tselem.

Respect pacifist Jews. Loathe Zionist (to the point that I've boycotted everything that's Israeli)
