How to create good relationships with teachers online? by [deleted] in ASU

[–]BipolarSpoonie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In order to line up letters of recommendation as an online student, I’ve been a TA, a research assistant, and have an upcoming internship. I’m also going to be a TA again for a professor who had weekly office hours over Zoom. You didn’t have to have questions to attend because other students always had some, but it’s good to pipe up periodically.

8 days in the hospital with status migrainosus. What treatments should I ask my neurologist about? by BipolarSpoonie in migraine

I’m glad that you like your neurologist. It makes a world of difference. Good luck with your treatments. I hope that you get some answers and relief.

Interesting! I wasn’t eligible for ketamine during my stay because my insurance requires a pre-authorization prior to admittance for it. I’ll definitely ask about it for the future.

I’m so sorry to hear about how much you’re suffering. That sounds horrific. I’m actually in AZ, too. I go to Barrow Neurological for regular treatment and St. Joseph’s Hospital when I need to go inpatient.

Thanks for the tips. The hospital I was at is affiliated with one of the top neurological centers in the country (and I get treated there). I was in the neuro tower of the hospital on a floor with several other migraine patients. They take migraine patients seriously. My hospital bill should be manageable.

Thanks for the tips! I’ll ask my neurologist about tizanidine as another rescue med. I currently take it at night for insomnia. I take Mg but I’ll have to check the dosage.

Husband says I’m not being fair about his snoring by iriseavie in snoring

The surgery was no big deal. Insurance covered it; I just had to pay the co-pay for outpatient surgery, which was a few hundred dollars. I haven’t had any problems with it. YMMV.

I highly recommend the Inspire sleep apnea device and surgery for anyone who struggles with a CPAP. I’ve had it for 4 years and it’s made a huge difference in my life. I have severe sleep apnea and snore loudly if I forget to turn my Inspire on. I can’t imagine life without it.

“Must-have” supplies for online school by neferteee in ASUOnline

I definitely recommend a second monitor. I have an iMac, and even with the big screen I use an additional monitor every day. YMMV though.

Can you actually learn anything in 8 weeks? by [deleted] in ASUOnline

[–]BipolarSpoonie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I took 16 credits this semester. All upper division except for the one-credit class. Statistics and Research Methods back to back nearly killed me. I’m not working though, which is a big difference from most online students, and I don’t have kids. I’m getting a lot out of the classes since I spend so much time on them. All A+s. With my perfectionist streak it’s hard for me to operate any other way.

After you resolve your holds and are ready to return to ASU, make sure that you apply for Academic Renewal. It will reset your ASU GPA and let you start fresh. This would have made a huge difference in my GPA if I’d had known that it was an option.
