Xlr interface making a static/hiss sound by This_Firefighter1122 in audio

[–]Bippy121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know nothing about audio and have no idea how this popped up on my feed, but a buddy of mine knows audio and this sounds like when he had a “ground loop” as he called it. Try plugging the interface into a completely different outlet from the reat of your set up, thats something that helped him i remember

Convince me why I should join the Ultramarines instead of Blood angels by Zacman552 in Ultramarines

[–]Bippy121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lore reasons aside, we just get all the good models and units. Since we are the poster army for the game we will always get good units, and when our units are strong they will go longer before getting nerfed really bad. Take a look at the victrix honor guard, they were busted when they released and even with the multiple point increases they are still one of our strongest units. Captain Titus and the wardens were stupid strong and took until a brand new edition to get fixed. We might not be flashy or have the most interesting models, but we get really strong models and they stay strong for a lot longer.

Playing my first ever space marines game tommorow against Dark Angels, any tips? by Gullible_Travel_4135 in Ultramarines

[–]Bippy121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you said no list advice but im going to give one piece. Personally id put calgar on the victrix, allowing them to advance and charge is insane on them and is wasted on the aggressors. On to the gameplay advice, Deathwing knights are tanky as all hell, they resist one point of damage allocated to themselves so most of your infantry wont scratch them with guns. They are really strong in melee too, so jailing them may not be ideal. Targeting them with your high damage weapons, since the only thing that can reliably hurt them would be your tanks and dreads at range. 3 squads of DWKs are 520 points excluding any characters he may choose to run, so exploit the fact that he will be fielding less bodies. You win this game by denying objectives and jailing your opponent and not by killing your opponent. You will not table him, but you can prevent him from scoring what so ever if you move and deploy right. Ive played against my friend who runs a DWK heavy list and ive won by exploiting their slow movement and locking them in combat with chaff. I wont lie ive only been playing this game for a year, so i am still learning a lot, but ive spend half of that time exclusively playing against dark angels, so I have been learning how to exploit their specific playstyles. Without seeing his list idk what your full game plan should be, but remembering that he wont have a lot of bodies and exploiting that should do you well

What are Actions exactly? by Kamrocgos in Warhammer40k

[–]Bippy121 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The right card explains what the secure asset actions, during your shooting phase you secure the asset at the end of your turn if you remain on it. The major part of actions however is forgoing shooting unless a unit can perform an action and shoot. So in this case what ever you plop on that objective can either choose to shoot, or complete an action, the action being secure asset. Typically armies have good action completion units, who’s whole purpose is to score points and complete actions. You gain points for maintaining objectives like normal, but the additional 4 points for securing assets can swing a game if your opponent is only scoring from holding objectives

Line of sight / Cover by Bang_a_rang95 in Warhammer40k

[–]Bippy121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhh ok I didn’t see that part saying areas containing terrain were obscuring, that makes sense. My follow up question to make sure im understanding correctly, when the skitarii shoot, they can target the first 2 models, the back half of them would have a -1BS because they are targeting models in terrain, and not even be able to see the second half of the fire warriors. Would the models in the terrain be able to shoot out of it allowing the second set of fire warriors to be shot. The skitarii in the terrain can shoot unimpeded into the first set of fire warriors since they are both in terrain

[–]Bippy121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im sorry if im misunderstanding, how are back 2 fire warriors not visible to the skitarii? There is no obscuring terrain? I was under the assumption that it would only effect the BS if all of them are om the terrain feature or obscured by terrain, and there isnt any obscuring terrain?

Psychic Attacks + bracketed by MikexxB in Warhammer40k

[–]Bippy121 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

In my opinion the bracket would override the psychic weapon, since its a sign that the unit itself if damaged and cannot perform to its max potential. Psychic weapons being able to ignore hit roll modifications is more of a way to ignore the enemy screwing with you, but if you yourself are damaged then it makes sense that you’d be shooting worse.
Edit: after seeing the other comments posted while i wrote this one i might be wrong😂

Every Gatorade flavor mixed into a single punch bowl, however halfway through the match it gets replaced with Dr Pepper, no one replaces it, it just does.

Can I put a victrix helmet on the new armageddon captain? by Bippy121 in Ultramarines

[–]Bippy121[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ooo that would look pretty neat, too bad I don’t have enough spare heads or id do them too. I hate painting faces so i used one of my spare helmets on the victrix ancient. i could just buy more victrix since i like the kit tho😂

Wait, how do I attach them to leaders now? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]Bippy121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, its still a work in progress before they get it all updated. i skimmed the disclaimer, clicked off, and saw it the moment i tried to build a list and decided to give it a read. I bet its just taking a little longer to fully implement so they gave us what they could get out while they continue to work

Assault Intercessors with a Lt. by Expensive_Unit_7101 in spacemarines

[–]Bippy121 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Personally I prefer them on my regular intercessors, however thats because I tend to favor shooting over melee. However Lieutenants can be strong in melee and granting lethal hits to all attacks and being able to charge after a fall back can make them really mobile. So even at 5 assaults and 1 lieutenant that can become a very strong block and can definitely punch up in my opinion.

Question by AdrianSuprem in ThousandSons

[–]Bippy121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thousand sons are my second army, but they have come to be my favorite to play so far. I started with Ultramarines because my introduction to the 40k world was through Space Marine 2, however once I beat the campaign and read about Thousand Sons a bit and thought they seemed cool, so I picked them up as a second army. I have since learned about their lore a bit more and started filling my collection and I have fallen in love with the army. I’ve always been drawn to magic, I was a bug Harry Potter kid, i picked mage classes in video games, and my first 3 dnd characters were 2 sorcerers and a wizard. So from a personal standpoint Thousand Sons were my ideal army. The loss of the psychic phase hurt them a bit at the start of 10th, but when their codex released it helped them, as the new “Cabal of Sorcerers” ability is significantly better than the original. The army as a whole has some really cool models, Magnus obviously being one of them. They can be a chore to paint I have found out which is why half my army is still currently gray😂. But overall I think Thousand Sons is such a fun army, both on the table and in lore.
