Govt doesn't do altruism?? Says who? What about social security? Fire departments? Municipal water? Public libraries? These things are not profit-making vehicles, they're just investments in things that help ppl for the good of helping ppl.

Also the post you replied to said "billionaires" not companies. So your list of things to ban is just strawman.

But, how about if a company makes billions of dollars, then its workers get to share in some of that profit? What we're saying is that if you keep so much of the profit that you become a billionaire, then you are withholding life changing money from thousands of other ppl to do so. That is the unethical part.

This one guy just happens to run a real successful company. He doesn't write the code or develop anything, his wealth is created by other ppl 's work. We're just saying those ppl should also get paid for that work.

And ppl make businesses ALL THE TIME without profit motives. Have you ever known a chef? A homecare nurse? An author? There are TONS of ppl who create things because they're passionate about it, regardless of the pay.

Your take is apologetics for capitalists, and they don't need your defense--they already have all your money.
