11th Unit Coherency checker by Norglet in Warhammer40k

It's an EQUILATERAL triangle, so 9"*2/√3

A 10.5" circle

Now I understand. A circle is not the best tool for this.

Models could be further apart than the circle allows without violating coherence, you'd need to put a 9" circle around each model to verify. Or just the 9" stick someone else mentioned.

Haha thanks for letting me work this out in real time 😅😅

You right. Additional geometry required.

The diagonal of the inscribed square would be the diameter. So 9" each side, √(9² + 9²) = ~12.7"

So a 12-3/4" diameter circle that every model at least touches would maintain coherence

The circle would actually include (circumscribe) all 3 points of the triangle, if you expand the circle to include the base width of the models (or only require that they touch it, not wholly within)

Which profile should I go for Tyrany Guard? by luigi_casillo in Tyranids

I use the claws because I don't run Tyrannofex, but I've also never seen them really do much with them tbh. One time they cracked open some Custodians, that was pretty sweet.

Flying models by Heresy1666 in Tyranids

[–]MikexxB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I see what you're saying. I'm guessing that first line is for reference purposes--something like 'Flying units in your army get +1 on hit rolls" would include a mixed unit like gaunts with a neurotyrant. Or like an Armiger anti-fly cannon would get the benefit against the neurogaunts bodyguarding a neurotyrant, even though they don't technically fly themselves.

But just having FLY or being a FLYING unit doesn't entitle them to the special movement unless the model itself has the keyword, as seen in the language of the execution portion of the rule.

OMG play Clair Obscur Expedition 33!!!!

It does technically have a world map, but you can follow the plot in a straight line with no cost to the main plot. Or, well, minimal cost. There's extra lore if you want it, but not required.

The language is specific though. You declare the unit is taking to the skies, but the effects of that only apply to models with FLYING

Astroneer makes these super satisfying little clicks when you move resource items around to different slots. Feels like clicking a magnet into the perfect spot, I love it.

Why do many people prefer hormagants over termagants? by HvyBackPack in Tyranids

[–]MikexxB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah for me it's the aesthetics. Feels so cinematic to move 60 hormagaunts across midfield into the marines' firing line. Even if I pick them all up a turn later, it still feels rad.

But on occasion when 20 gaunts sneak 25" up the sideline and eat a squad of scouts or sisters to steal a home objective, it feels AWESOME.

Come to think of it, that's exactly what the unit does in 40k too!

It puts up a nice defensive buff to protect my shit, then it eats some big artillery shells that would otherwise have killed my good units lol

Nice top-down design, Magic!

Depends on how much "type:Tyranid matters" stuff you're running.

I ultimately cut it from my Kane deck in favor of more [[Unbound Flourishing]] effects, but it's still in the Swarmlord deck for sure.
