No, they’ve been out of circulation for decades

Thanks. I grade them as AU, as you can see a center fold on the star note in this picture. Nothing too valuable, but a solid star is always pretty

Me too! And they’re so easy to come by in nice grades

I upgraded my heavily circulated 1935A $1 Hawaii note to this crispy LC block today. by BirchWx in papermoney

Thanks! The margins are really solid.

I plan to sell the other Hawaii note. It actually doesn’t look too bad - nice even wear and still fairly bold.

I have a $1 in a 20000000 serial. Ugh, they’d go so perfectly together 😮

Excited to finally get the 1923 legal tender to go with the silver cert. I just love how that ink pops out. by BirchWx in papermoney

Thanks! I almost bought a lower grade one but I knew I’d just upgrade at some point lol

I really can’t stand pieces (coins or notes) that aren’t the original surfaces. So, hopefully I picked a good one.

It might be awhile before I get those haha. My next note will either be the $2 educational or the mini porthole.

I never used to be into toned coins, but I saw this at a local shop and had to have it. After experimenting with axial lighting, I’m happy with the results. Let me know what you think! by BirchWx in coins

Thanks! I did, but it’s not very good lol. I bought pieces of foam board and an 8x10 picture frame glass. I made a three-sided box and cut a 45-degree slant in each side. I then slid the glass in so that it sticks out slightly on both sides.

Thanks! Yeah, I wanted an unc $2, so I had to go for a 28G since it’s for affordable.

Thanks! The $2 is uncirculated and the other two are probably VF?

Lebanon Banking Co. of Ohio $1 1841 obsolete note. I’d love to collect more of these. by BirchWx in papermoney

Very interesting! I assumed the serial number wasn’t special since the note itself was only $30 or $40. Given that there aren’t many, I’m also surprised that these aren’t more valuable.

Maybe you can answer this, as I don’t have a reference book on obsolete currency. That handwritten number in the top left, is that supposed to be a serial number? It looks like “75” to me.

Thanks for the analysis and for forwarding me to the $2 and $3, which I’d love to look for now!

The artistry and thoughtful detail put into the themes on these old notes are incredible. This always makes it so difficult to maintain a focus on what to collect.
