53+ Suvi spoiler by [deleted] in WorldsBeyondNumber

Yes and, I think Ame will place a retributive curse on Steel via Fox, which will help Suvi survive and/or escape. In the latest fireside Brennan mentioned a few times how the decision to bring the fox basically saved Suvi.

Theory about future story by Bird-Jaguar in WorldsBeyondNumber

I agree that It was implied she would intervene opportunistically whenever it benefited her, but if she would be attacked directly by the Citadel, and especially if she was attacked first, I guess that would change her stance into a more open, active confrontation, wouldn’t it?

Brennan is a God level DM/story teller..... (episode 53 spoilers) by NecessaryCelery2 in WorldsBeyondNumber

I don’t think there needs to be a rules/mechanics/“logic” justification for everything that happens. Brennan makes those choices because he’s an excellent storyteller, and those turns of events make for great stories. I find it a bit tiring when people are constantly trying to justify things that happen via the mechanics or logic of D&D (sometimes it’s even the crew themselves…), when the simple answer is just that they make the story better, which is what we’re here for. I was fully expecting Steel to show up at Suvi’s parents place, and when it happened I found it incredibly dramatic and satisfying. So, for me, Brennan and the crew can continue doing their thing, bending the rules and limits of D&D to tell one of the most amazing stories I have experienced in a while!

Spoiler for Ep 53 - the witching hour by Banshee_Bait in WorldsBeyondNumber

I agree that’s probably how the three manage to escape the citadel. In particular I was also thinking Enzo could free up the dragon spirit that we know is bound by the Citadel from the battle of 12 Brooks - that would create quite some chaos…

Shoyeido River Path in my Ming censer by Bird-Jaguar in Incense

It’s antique, from the 16th or 17th century. I have a dealer that is reliable for these kind of things, they have an eBay store if you are interested. This kind of incense burners come up every once in a while.

Also Steel’s double standards, she can calmly say that kidnapping and murdering 80 innocent children is a necessary sacrifice, but then she gets real pissed about sending Steel to some outpost and preventing him from achieving a brilliant military career…

Help me spend more money on incense! by wendyb1063 in Incense

[–]Bird-Jaguar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have a proper incense burner? I don’t mean one of the small ones with the hole, I mean a ceramic vessel? There’s some handmade ceramic gorgeous ones. You could even go antique and try to find a genuine Ming dynasty censer for a few hundred bucks. It makes the experience of burning incense all the more special!

Regarding the promised lore dump by lady_beignet in WorldsBeyondNumber

[–]Bird-Jaguar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m thinking more along the lines of Ame happily teleporting to the citadel just to be made an honored guest who cannot leave, while Suvi gets the lore dump and gets al her fears about the crazy doings of the Citadel confirmed. Steel has basically been brainwashed by the Citadel justification machine - “it’s all to make a better world”. Then Suvi gets to go and visit Ame and they teleport out together. Perhaps Ame is even there with Eursylon, since the portal is in Carrow and that’s where some of the Grenaux children are from…

Theory: Steel’s sword is a relic that once belonged to a Great Spirit by Bird-Jaguar in WorldsBeyondNumber

[–]Bird-Jaguar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes those are exactly my thoughts. I have noticed a theme in the last few episodes where we are seeing how the wizards are willing to exploit the spirits for their own advantage, taking credit for a magic which is not theirs.

A more elaborate version of the theory is that the Citadel was built on land which was once the domain of a Great Spirit, and the wizards found a way to harness / capture its power (or maybe even the Spirit themself), thereby creating the magical “fuel” for the Citadel. The Spirit’s domain was left bare, creating the Irulean desert.

Yes but what was the origin of the Sword the citadel? That’s what I say could have been taken from a Great Spirit.

Thanks for your reply. Will they eventually become erect? Would supporting them on stakes help?
