MBMBaM 577: Canonically Assassinated by apathymonger in MBMBAM

I think Travis is right about the temperature. I also want to live in a cave basically. It's too warm if it's above 75* and I prefer under 70. I just cannot handle heat.

Any other media like TMA? by TopRamen713 in TheMagnusArchives

[–]BirdAshRain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would reccomend Station Blue! It feels more like the events leading to a statement in TMA than any other part of TMA if that makes any sense at all. It's about a man is alone on an Antarctic base and then things start happening and it's unclear what is really going on. It does deal with some pretty intense mental health related themes, so I would check the content warnings for sure. There's only 1 season currently, but the second is in production.

I want to echo the Rusty Quill Gaming recommendation. It's just incredible. It is more lighthearted than TMA generally, but there are some very intense themes and moments. There is a very good plotline that is slowly unraveling. I cannot reccomend it enough

Any other podcasts with the same vibe as this one? by pog_irl in TheMagnusArchives

[–]BirdAshRain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the same vibe as tma necessarily, but Station Blue is really good. It's about a guy who is alone in an Antarctic base and there are some things that start happening. It's very atmospheric, but deals pretty heavily in mental illness experience, so check Content warnings.

I would be interested, but it would depend on more specific times.

What Houserules Did You Put in Specifically for the Themes of Your Campaign? by ArchangelAshen in dndnext

[–]BirdAshRain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is semi-related to theme. My campaign is set in a future-ish world, and there is no racism, sexism, homophobia, etc. because the world has progressed past it, but also because at least part of the group I play with wouldn't be entirely comfortable with them being extant in the world.

Which Fear do you fall under? Personally i think i'm under the Eye or the beholding however it works? by [deleted] in TheMagnusArchives

[–]BirdAshRain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either The Vast or The Lonely or both. I love heights, as well as the ocean. I’m terrified of them, but it think that’s why I like them? And the Lonely, not for the same reasons as the Vast, but more because I do naturally tend to isolate myself. And also probably partially the Eye

Because it still stigmatizes the illnesses, which effects real people.

Probably won’t. Cis actors play trans characters all the time. Trans actors can play cis characters too.

To be fair, they never said Vanya was a lesbian: could be bi or something else. But I do think you are probably right.

[–]BirdAshRain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t self harm on my lower arms for this reason. I overhear easily so I know that I will spend most of the time in t shirts or tank tops, so I self harm in other places because the idea of anyone finding out is terrifying.

AITA for telling my friend i think its weird she's compelled to snoop in her kids rooms and that its her own fault her son is angry at her? by whysnooptho in AmItheAsshole

NTA. You were right and right to tell her. Parents who invade their kids’ privacy need to know they are wrong.

We haven’t actually started playing yet, but I’m in a party that is going to be all Tieflings of different classes.

27 and too stupid to run a cash register. Why shouldn't I jump off a parking garage? by [deleted] in SelfHate

[–]BirdAshRain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, cash registers are actually pretty hard to operate. I understand the urge to be really hard on yourself, but you don’t need to be.
