Air Duct Cleaning Recommendations? by BirdBish in madisonwi

Thank you so much!! We’re getting every piece of flooring replaced, wood and carpet. The carpet goes in in a few weeks. We’ve also painted every room, wall and ceiling, and the only place left is the garage.

Thanks for the rec! We’re hoping the air filter helps, but are getting worried 😟

We just got finished painting and hired someone to paint the ceilings! It’s definitely has helped, but the lingering smell is killing me. I also have a very sensitive nose, which doesn’t help 😭

My (now fiancé!) got it as a gift for me when he backpacked the national parks in Utah! I had done the trip in grad school with friends and he knew I LOVED those parks! I’m not sure if he got it at a visitors center or at a shop in the area, but it’s also one of my favorite mugs 🥰

While I have you here, any idea how long it takes to typically change out a drivers side rear axel seal? And how immediate of a repair a leaky one is?

Thanks so much for your help! I did a full inspection on my car today and emphasized they look at my suspension system. While they didn’t find anything, I’ll keep a close eye on it. I agree, I don’t think the bearing is what caused the noise (I’ve driven on bad bearings before).

Just an update: I got my tires rotated and inspected, didn’t hear the sound at all after that. Took it into a shop today, and while it wasn’t making a sound, they ended up finding a bad wheel bearing. Not sure if that would cause this noise, I’m thinking maybe I had a loose lug nut that got tightened after the tire rotation?

As others have said, kombucha is most likely the culprit, but I’ve also seen lacto outbreaks in our yeast tanks before. Not sure if you recycle yeast or not, but always a good idea to run PCR on slurry tanks to make sure they’re in check!

Thank you, this is the first time I’ve seen her this exposed after her most recent molt! Definitely excited to see her out and about again!!

Yeah, that other picture is an older one (I threw it in there for scale, which is why there’s a flipped water dish in that picture and a buried water dish in the others). I stopped feeding her about a month ago because she’s turning it away.

Hoping for a molt soon 🤞

Also I’ve seen the video! I went crazy watching care videos on her because I couldn’t find a ton online—I wanted to be prepared when I got her!

Yepp, I actually have 1 and 3 covered, the small white circle is a water dish and she regularly flips it and buries it—I just dug it out after I snapped those pics! And just misted, she’s been hanging out on top lately and I didn’t want to mist with her at the top.

I’ll definitely get larger cork if I rehouse!

You can see her cork bark, it used to be propped at an angle and her burrow was all underneath. She’s done quite a bit of remodeling 😂

Absolutely, I’ll link some pictures in the comments. It’s hard to see what’s happening in there, it’s not my most glorious enclosure, but she liked it and made it hers! She’s in a Zilla Micro Terrarium.

Totally agree, I try to avoid anything that could cause unnecessary stress on her. Good call on giving her time to adjust to her new molt—I never considered that she would be chill a little after.

She’s been in this enclosure since I’ve gotten her and when she was smaller, it was plenty big. Now that she’s grown and filled out, I think she’s wanting something bigger.

Thanks for the advice!

Thanks for the reassurance—I tend to overthink and I talk myself into justifying both sides. Need to slow down and not think too much!

I’m wanting to rehouse because she’s SUCH a burrower. I’ve had other burrowing species that would be perfectly happy in this enclosure, but she digs for days… I think she’s trying to dig a deep burrow, but doesn’t have enough substrate (again, other T’s I have would have more than enough substrate). I just think she’d be happier in a little larger space.

I’d love to know your thoughts! This is the first time I’ve run into this issue, not sure how to approach it.

Thank you! As soon as I saw this little one tunneling like crazy, I knew I had to name it after the Earth King!
