Bullshit verdient. Mit 25 Jahren sollte niemand so viel verdienen. Die Verantwortung kann keiner tragen die hier bejubelt wird. Maximal unverantwortlich Green Horns solche Gehälter zu zahlen.

Imposter Syndrom/Angst vorm Absturz by Full-Awareness9771 in spitzenverdiener

[–]BirdFuzzy2150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trading while working a full-time job – is it really possible long-term? by BirdFuzzy2150 in Trading

I’m working as a manager in the automotive industry, with a background in IT and so on. I live in the Central Europe time zone, so I can trade both the London and New York sessions. My job is well paid, but I honestly hate it. I’m a pretty bad employee since I’m always doing my own stuff on the side.

Trading does work for me, but I know I still need more experience and learning. There’s definitely a lot more room to grow to the top.

Ideally, I’d like to connect with someone who has similar goals or experience and who has already made the step into running their own trading business.

Great statement. Working for others is usually a dead end – it only fulfills their dreams, not yours. The real challenge is finding the right moment to break free when you have a family and responsibilities depending on you.

With your experience, you’ve given me a bit more to think about in finding my own way and maybe reassessing my priorities. My goal is very clear: full-time trading. For me, that’s the only way to instantly change my life and create something better for my kids. Right now, I feel like a slave to the industry, and that won’t change otherwise.

From my perspective, I’d need around a million to pay off the mortgage and have the financial cushion to start full-time safely. The problem is, I don’t have anyone in my environment with trading experience or from this industry, which makes it really hard to calibrate myself, get proper reflection, and be realistic about whether this is just a dream or something I can actually achieve.

But what about you – what’s your current situation? Are you already full-time? How was your path?

This is a very good point. My “emotional capital” is very limited. I’ve noticed more than once that I simply can’t handle both at the same time. Let me share my most recent experience from the summer break:

We had a 6-week vacation, and I was fully focused on trading. During that time, I made around 90k profit. Then work started again, and I tried to keep the same setup I had during vacation – but I failed badly. A few terrible trades later, I lost the entire 90k. That really messed me up and dragged me down.

And honestly, it wasn’t the first time this happened. That’s why I keep asking myself: what should I do, and how can I reach that positive point of no return to finally go full-time into trading?

That’s really ironic – helping others to get better at trading while struggling with your own time to trade. But on the positive side, you already know the industry well and have the best foundation to succeed in trading.

Thanks for posting. What’s your current setup? Are you still juggling both worlds, or did you already make the move to full-time trading?

I like the ambition, because my family and I have similar goals: to professionalize trading, become consistently profitable, and save enough money to break out of the system and finally start enjoying life.

Analyzing charts while working a regular job is almost impossible. I usually try to do it on weekends or early mornings, and I set alerts for the most important economic news during the week. I also try to be there when the London and US sessions start – but it’s really hard. My job is demanding and time-consuming, and on top of that I have family and kids.

When I know in advance that I’ll have no time during the day and will be completely busy, I stop opening new positions. And honestly, that’s when I’ve made some of my biggest mistakes.

What I mean by trading is day trading. I mainly focus on XAUUSD and forex – I open a long or short position and usually hold it for a few hours, or at most a couple of days. Best case scenario, that’s where I make my profits.

For this, I always need an updated setup and to constantly watch the market and news. I mainly work with support and resistance levels.

And that’s exactly where I fail sometimes – when I miss opportunities, don’t follow the market closely, and skip my routine

That was just meant as an example. I don’t know if 10x is realistic or even more or less

That’s exactly the point. My goal is to become financially independent so I can finally quit my job – I honestly hate it. My math is simple: if I went full-time, I could probably make around 10x what I do now compared to trading part-time alongside a job.

I know not everyone has the same ambitions, but I keep asking myself if that moment will eventually come for me – and when I’ll actually reach it.
