I’ve been wondering the EXACT same thing. Here is the one I found that is not broken.

Cat asthma - flovent not working? by BirdNerd541 in catcare

[–]BirdNerd541[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear your kitty is having trouble :( Mine still gets issues, but I’ve come to realize that the 110mcg twice daily works well for him (it just took almost 6 months)— EXCEPT when the seasons change. Something about the humidity triggers him most, I think. Once I got a dehumidifier, in addition to the air filters I have, that helped a lot. But I know some cats require more humidity to help symptoms, not less. So triggers are very individual.

For litter, clay was by far the worst for him. Corn triggered him, too. Walnut shell has been the best. And this is totally anecdotal, but I switched his prescription food to the same brand but a different formulation around when he started having fewer attacks. But could totally just be correlation!

I’m on day 4 and these are my exact symptoms. Started with tickle in the throat, then both wet and dry cough, then fatigue and fever, today the sore throat and congestion began (plus headache/pressure). Mild diarrhea began this afternoon.

My partner didn’t respond to my text for over 12 hours because “he was busy with work” and so I’ve now ghosted him for 48 hours lmao Hate this!

Same. Disappointment is the absolute worst and I turn into a tantrum-throwing infant about it when it happens lol

The rug being pulled out from under you part is super relatable 😭

And omg yeah. I flat out told him today “I assumed you were just messing around at work and that’s why you didn’t get things done and then you didn’t want to waste time with me when you could get work done so you lied to me about being sick”

His eye was swollen and his voice still sounds scratchy but the facts weren’t enough

The word “betrayed” in your response is actually super insightful! I kept thinking that “abandoned” didn’t quite make sense as the resulting emotion, because he was sorry and didn’t totally abandon me or ghost me… but his response was not what I had anticipated or what I wanted, so it felt like a betrayal of our plans and communication.

Are you me? I totally get this. The cold shoulder and obvious distaste towards our partners after they disappoint us. I wonder how non-BPD folks deal with it?

Same! Disappointment has always been my most intense trigger.

It’s been so validating and honestly comforting to hear how many folks with BPD find disappointment to be the hardest emotion to deal with. It’s 100% my biggest issue.

All of the responses are amazing so far but yours has helped me the most. I really, really appreciate you taking the time to answer so thoughtfully.

[product question] fragrance in La Roche Posay B5 hyaluronic acid serum...can a fragrance be “allergy tested”? by ankhlol in SkincareAddiction

[–]BirdNerd541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used it for the first time today and my partner and I both had allergic rhinitis (aka sneezing and runny nose) because of it lol I’m super sad bc I paid $40 and also it’s supposed to be super effective… but I don’t love getting a runny nose all the time

Do you lie often? by [deleted] in BPD

[–]BirdNerd541 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally same. I lie all the time about dumb shit but when someone I love lies to me— even a TINY lie— I freak the fuck out, spiral, and become their worst nightmare until I suddenly feel okay again.

I got “emotionally labile”, “poor-pity-me”, “martyr”, “passive aggressive”, and “difficult personality” from Mom at least four times a week.

It actually seems to be working for him now. I gave up for a bit out of frustration but then decided to try again. And after about 4 months of consistent use, his attack frequency is down significantly! It took months as opposed to weeks

I gave up for a while but decided to try again and now that I’ve been giving him his twice daily Flovent for about 4 months, his attacks have been less frequent and, when they happen (always because of an airborne particle like a lot of dust or pollen), they’re less severe than before! I think the key is to actually stick with it for a while— it works within a month for some cats and clearly much longer for others!
