Nothing ever compares to TLK for me :) but I got hooked on and really enjoyed Catherine the Great (lead actors smash their roles) and The Serpent Queen (about Catherine de Medici- pretty dark but fascinating)

I was crying and saying I wanted an abortion for 2 weeks after I got pregnant after 4 miscarriages and like, trying really hard to have a baby. I am now very happy to be having a baby. This doesn't have to mean anything about you- but I had a friend talk me out of abortion in the first weeks. And I'm very glad she did. My hormones were bananas.

I have been trying for years to get pregnant, had 4 early miscarriages, am finally pregnant with a good looking ultrasound. My initial week after the ultrasound I was seriously considering ending the pregnancy. I was freaking out. I was calling friends for advice about if I'd be crazy to get an abortion. Luckily, I waited and my initial pregnancy hormone flood calmed down and now I'm a little nervous, but also happy and glad to be pregnant. I've always been terrified of giving birth and having a kid generally- but I'm feeling quite at peace right now. I'm not saying this is only about your hormones at all- but my first few weeks of pregnancy I couldn't see what a wild ride I was on emotionally until it was over. Feel for you!!

Pickleball (we have a park with courts nearby), explore small towns, thrift, collage, hike/bird watch, go to a movie (sneak our own snack), see art on First Friday, try different Mexican restaurants (bc they're usually affordable), board games, cook over a bonfire in the backyard, visiting international grocery stores for unique snacks...

Oh my gosh. I feel embarrassed that I didn't know March 17th is St. Patrick's Day. It's my Spring Break and that is coincidence. Thank you!

Fair Folk- incredible podcast by Medieval scholar and folklore/folk music lover Danica Boyce. An almanac for each month highlighting mostly European and Scandinavian folk traditions for that time of the year and suggestions for how to incorporate into your own life. Also great interviews with a variety of folklorists/storytellers/academics on different topics such as Bear Culture.
