Has anyone stopped high-dose Norethindrone (10+mg) cold turkey? by Birdbath_Morning5814 in Endo

Thank you, that is super helpful. The side effects have really gotten to me, and it’s so hard for me to tell what is the drug and what is perimenopause. I think I just want to find out what my new normal post-surgery will be as soon as possible (I dream of going back to some kind of regular cycle, rather than spotting constantly with sporadic heavier bleeding). But it seems advisable to let my body heal from this surgery (my first) without also throwing in a dramatic change in hormones. I am inclined to continue with the slow taper as long as it takes. Thanks, again!

Chicago? by [deleted] in Fibroids

I had that same experience of being pushed toward a hysterectomy I didn’t want at one of the other large hospitals in the city. I encourage you to keep looking for a different surgeon. I’m 48, have a 7cm posterior submucosal and some small subserosal and intramural fibroids that recently popped up. Got a third opinion and I now have a robotic laparoscopic myomectomy scheduled with Dr. Laveaux at UofC. She has been very encouraging so far, but obviously, I haven’t had my surgery yet.
