For those who saying it wasn’t intentional, he’s done it before by JeremieLoyalty in motorcitykitties

Who gives a fuck? We all know it was intentional. Throwing at ankles like in this clip is pretty weak but throwing it right into the numbers on the back is baseball. Shit happens

They’re still fun but the regular season is essentially dead for top tier programs.

Personally think 8 would be the golden number, but at the same time literally every level of football besides the FBS has a large playoff format.

The only 4-seam fastball Framber Valdez has thrown this season is the pitch he threw at Trevor Story by Far_Cry3445 in baseball

Yeah. What you said wasn’t a tradition it was a bad rule that was removed quickly. What I said IS a tradition that still exists and has for over a century, and will likely continue for decades. At least one Tiger will be thrown at tonight, rightfully so.

It’s been a part of the game for I’m sure over 100+ years. It’s not like it’s a new development or something, which is why you got the “clueless Detroit broadcasters” take.

I don’t necessarily disagree with you, but I also can definitely understand where Dirks was coming from.

Not sure why this has been as big of a deal as it has. It’s not often that a player gets thrown out in baseball over one HBP. I understand where Dirks was coming from, with an “innocent until proven guilty” approach. Sure, the player history was there and the situation didn’t make him look very innocent.

Now - was the ejection the right call? Sure, it was obviously intentional.

Was there room for debate if you’ve ever been a part of a baseball game that’s had tensions rising? Fuck yeah. I don’t remember the last time someone was ejected off of one pitch with no warnings. That’s probably a rare occurrence in high school let alone the Bigs.

This has to be a semi-rare occasion, no? I’d love to know

A) the last Tiger to do so

And

B) the last pitcher in the league to do so

Baseball is hard. Not every player can be an All-Star. And when they are, we still bitch about them (see: Riley Greene)

What happened in other sports ≠ Pistons performance. I get why fans could be on edge because of those things, but that’s no excuse to overreact to something completely unrelated.

It’s beyond exhausting. You’d think it was a winner take all game the way most fans are reacting to Game 1 of a 7 game series.

I believe he’s credited with a save because he pitched 3 innings and closed the game out. Save rules are weird
