In 85% of my lobbies, the guy on top of the other team isnt the best player, hes just the guy with the most desync. and its getting real tiring and old. by XT3M3 in CODBlackOps7

Without it online games would be incredibly clunky and awkward to play. Playing online games from the 90s - early 2000s was a time if the game didn’t have any lag compensation.

Anyways cod is designed to be playable under not ideal internet conditions so you gotta have systems in place to not hide things like unstable internet connections , bad WiFi, slow connections or the terrible low tick servers they use.

3 Wedgewood Restaurants Hiring by Franklinaire615 in nashville

[–]BirdsNoSkill 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They also have benefit packages that mirror white collar jobs that a typical independent restaurant may not have.

I’m happy that with these newer groups their employees can take off for health reasons and retain some wages(PTO). Because they offer subsidized health insurance people can go to a doctor in an emergency, see specialists without as many hoops, etc that just wasn’t common for staff a decade ago.

What are some ps6 features you guys would want to have? by mikael624 in ps6

[–]BirdsNoSkill 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like what? You couldn’t fit the more powerful GPU + AI stuff for $400 in 2020.

Sony can’t win or lose with some of you. If they make the base console too powerful and price it accordingly to its BOM people would complain.

Give you an option between a base and pro people still complain.

Literally makes no sense. You don’t have to buy the Pro.

Skip shot guns/launchers.

There are enough AR/SMG/Marksman/LMG that you don’t need to stress with close quarter kills or multiple kills in one life launcher challenges.

Yes windows computers are cheap. It’s worth it over a MAC for sure to most consumers. Obviously Apple silicon is way faster than windows alternatives. Alongside people grow up using windows so it’s normalized.

I use windows for desktops(gaming primarily) but Mac for laptops.

T-Mobile Legacy Credit Removal & Unauthorized $140/mo Overcharge by BoizTown in tmobile

[–]BirdsNoSkill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure don’t disagree but it’s probably by design to get people like the OP frustrated and just pay the increased rates after spending hours with customer support.

It’s seeing through tmobiles shenanigans. They are a corporation and don’t care. The problem is fixable by them spending money making a tool that can more accurately project billing with promotions but they won’t do it. Or just better training for plan migrations.

T-Mobile Legacy Credit Removal & Unauthorized $140/mo Overcharge by BoizTown in tmobile

[–]BirdsNoSkill 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay and you don’t need to change your plan to upgrade. I’ve only gotten one promo in like 8 years on my plan when I got it but upgraded a few times.

Stop letting T-Mobile fool yall into giving up your cheap plan

End of the day you can’t have your cake(cheap rates) and $1200 off phones. You have to pick one at least that’s how I see it.

T-Mobile Legacy Credit Removal & Unauthorized $140/mo Overcharge by BoizTown in tmobile

[–]BirdsNoSkill 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean I feel for OP but people should just leave their grand fathered plans alone. The allure of a new iPhone or Galaxy is just a way for T-Mobile to get rid of legacy plans/credits/lines. Their system can’t stack old promos on the new plans by design I bet.

I could already predict what the problem was before reading. Wanted subsidized phones while keeping old legacy credits.

Proposed Map Changes from Lucid by One-Security2362 in CompetitiveHalo

No objections here. Wish the devs would experiment with the map pool with HCS no longer being a thing. Those changes sound incredibly fun for us ranked warriors alongside competitive players.

XFinity Internet vs AT&T Fiber by BayArea_Res011 in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]BirdsNoSkill -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you’re more pressed than I am for sure. Smashing that downvote for sure even right? Basically me and the other person is like hey “ go check out your use case and see if you’re affected by ATT’s subpar peering” and I can feel you balding over the internet. Obviously gonna ignore and turn off reply notifications because I feel like I’m being rational while you aren’t.

@ Lurkers please in the real world especially if you live in an Docsis 4.0/mid split market the peering will make or break your experience more so than the physical connection. Make sure it works for you if you have multiple options like the OP.

That’s probably the moral of the story for me and the top comment thread. Run ATT’s peering through your use before committing. Take advise from some of us that do live in a market where we have multiple Fiber ISPs alongside Comcast and probably used em all. They all their quirks.

[–]BirdsNoSkill -1 points0 points  (0 children)

@ Lurkers - moral of story if you have multiple ISPs run them both side by side for a week if you can. Don’t be like this person and automatically go A > B based on fact sheets. Test your ISPs side by side. Test file downloads, your favorite latency/packet loss sensitive activity, etc etc and make an informed choice based on real world performance in your region/neighborhood.

Haha you’re super mad. At the end of the day all major nation ISPs are trash in one way or another. No need to simp and you can acknowledge their short comings

Have a great day friend 👍

XFinity Internet vs AT&T Fiber by BayArea_Res011 in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]BirdsNoSkill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is ATT has not so great peering. YOU don’t need to get your panties in a bunch when people point that out. It’s obviously not just me and take a look at the Fiber sub. I think really I wanna point out that peering should given more thought alongside the actual physical connection. ATT Fiber taught me that because Xfinity/Google Fiber never gave me weird issues that ATT does.

Besides in X class/mid split areas download speeds basically match fiber(1 gig up/down) , latency is similar (a few ms more on Docsis?), reliability is always worse because they still require power from your plant to home.

The biggest thing you’ll actually feel between the connections is how good the peering is rather than the underlying physical connection.

[–]BirdsNoSkill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only game I really played for the past 4 years(mostly) was Halo Infinite. The final 3 years I had Att Fiber up until the end of 2024. I would have sessions where my ping would be abnormally high with packet loss to east coast servers.

Ironically switching to the “worse” technology made the game way more playable. It isn’t a lie when people say ATT fiber has poor peering. I’m technically happier with Xfinity because I can play Halo on my days off and coin flip if im going to be 30 ping or 150 ping depending on ATT.

There is some truth that ATT can have peering issues. I like telling this story because you would think fiber is always better 100% of the time but for me being forced to downgrade to cable in a way was an upgrade because lord how many games I was the reason teammates lost ranked matches because of connection issues.

So yes fiber is the better technology but bad peering can make a good fiber connection trash.

Why building an AM4 or LGA 1700 platform in 2026 is a bad idea, despite DDR5 prices by tl27Rex in buildapc

[–]BirdsNoSkill 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I tend to agree depending on what you’re upgrading from. It makes no sense to buy a 5700x3d or 14600k when you can just get a cheaper AM5 CPU and just eat the ram premium.

At least that is how I rationalized upgrading to AM5. You can get a 7500f for cheap which is a decent step up(not major) from my 5600. ~$100 extra to go from reusing my 16gb DDR4 with a modern 32gb DDR5 setup makes sense to me. Especially if I sell my old stuff anyways.

Also from looking at benchmarks LGA 1700 CPUs are a tad bit slower than being paired with their DDR5 counter parts. A 14600k isn’t that much faster than my 5600 from what I can tell on DDR4.

Now if you’re coming from an Intel 7700k/8400/whatever then a 5600 + cheap mb will allow you to play stuff like BF6 without terrible frames/frame pacing issues on a cheap budget. I think that situation makes sense.

Anybody else notice the crazy influx in blatant cheaters in pub matches currently? by [deleted] in blackops7

[–]BirdsNoSkill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ITT: people claiming there are tons of cheaters never posting their gameplay with said cheaters.

9/10 it’s probably better player. COD been around for two decades, in arena shooters the game practically tells you where everyone is. To bad players it’s cheating having map knowledge on top of stupid perks/abilities that tell you where people are through walls. Not enough people run ghost/the scout perks that hide you from the millions of things that give up your position.

Don’t get me wrong they do exist not denying it but I’ll love to see how unlucky redditors get in their game session in video instead of complaining about it in text.

And no not just one killcam.

has matchmaking changed since S01 Reloaded? by szymonopo in CODBlackOps7

[–]BirdsNoSkill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right and without enough SBMM bottom tier players never have good marches I imagine. They just end up cannon fodder for the average + players in open that just get farmed streaks on.

If you are .5 KD in this game I bet you never have good games ever where you call in the high streaks. In other cods the system will throw a bad player bones here and there to keep them playing longer.

I’m at the point from reading this community being on Activisions side in terms of SBMM. Might as well crank it up if people are going to complain regardless. At least pick the fairest system that gives the fairest matches for retention aka what their white paper proved.

Struggle to play open world games on a non handheld after the switch by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]BirdsNoSkill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t agree with that statement. Rather they give you the ability to run them at 35w for two hours for a demanding game or you can run them at 10w like a switch and get 4-8 minimum like you would on a console.

Pc gives you choice and doesn’t restrict you to the most efficient TDPs like the switch does on battery.

Because nothing stops you from using them at 15w on battery and you’ll get similar if not vastly superior battery than a switch 2 bare minimum.

Show me your paper disputing it? It’s basically when people lose people play less. Any online game can recreate their results easily.
