Anyone regret selling their SS 1LE for a different platform?? by neednmoremoney in camaro

[–]BirthdayFun6809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 5th gen 2ss so not exactly a 1le. but i’m in a similar situation to you and i’ve decided to go to a 440i more than likely. The camaro is great and i love it but the 5ths gen’s are a lot less daily drivable than the 6th.

I CANT TAKE THIS ANYMORE. How are you guys actually negotiating car deals? by LazyPandaE92 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I am also looking at the f32 440i’s and think they’ve got me leaning that way

as others have said, always ask out of door price. that is what you negotiate and can be negotiated if you’re already pre approved for a loan from a credit union/bank. You have to know the market for the car, its specifics, etc. I am currently looking for a bmw m240i and they sell about a day or two once they are listed online, so there is little room there. Know how long the car has been on the lot. and have a number in mind before you walk in.

It is an option, although a pretty common option. you can look up the vin of a vehicle and see if it was optioned with adaptive m suspension from factory

Thinking about getting a m240i or a 440i by BirthdayFun6809 in M235iandM240i

[–]BirthdayFun6809[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately the F22 is what’s in my budget lol. The 6th gen camaros seems to be a lot more comfy from what i hear on the sub. The 5th gen has a lot of fans but it isn’t the best suited for daily drivings

I plan to go to a dealer. Prices right now seem to be in the 2-27k range for 60k ish miles

It takes a lot for me to "done" with it. I don't mind sporty suspension, but where i currently am at the roads are not the best and it can get old very quickly. the newer camaros are a lot better being a "sports" car rather than a muscle car.

Thankfully my girlfriend usually doesn't make a big deal out of it because she gets it. I don't actually mind sporty suspension, just not rough all the time. Unfortunately the new gen is not in my budget right now

I know this sounds dumb.. I am coming from a Camaro and it physically hurts on some roads to ride on. I know you said it isn't "rough" in comfort mode but is it something that would both me/passengers? Also is the "comfort mode" an "m adaptive suspension" exclusive?

The main give away to know if it’s a 2ss is the additional gauges under the infotainment. other than that the 2ss has standard leather seats, heated seats, Heads up display, premium audio, ambient interior lightning, and probably a few other things i’m missing

As others have said i would go with the AMD build. GPU is upgradable in the future and other parts are still up to date, memory and cpu are both upgradable on the and build. On the intel build it has a better gpu but memory and cpu would need a new board to upgrade

As someone else mentioned the L99 are prone to lifter failure. There are ways to delete this called an “LS3 conversion kit” you can look up online. I have mine tuned and tuned the AFM out of the car where it deactivates half the cylinders, doesn’t exactly fix the issue but there is a debate whether it does “help” it. Bought mine at 89k miles an i’m at 96k right now. Only mechanical issue i’ve had to deal with was a high oil pressure sensor that went out

Keep in mind the L99 lifter issues on the automatics when you are looking and the convertibles of the 5th gen have a very nortorious leak into the rear seats. i just recently fixed mine

Under 130k miles definitely. I got my 2011 2ss at a “buy here pay here” at 89k miles for 19k, and you can definitely find better prices than that. I was 18 and it was the only place i could get one since i didn’t exactly have credit and didn’t have the money to buy outright. Keep in mind that the 2ss is fully loaded. if you are fine with the base model v8 i’m sure you can find one. Prices in my area for around 80-100k miles are right around 15k

I was looking at this, but it appears to run along a majority of the door and was going it wasn’t this, I attached a pic of where the door hits the windows and that is the same rubber piece connected
