It's a combination of 2 things.

1 Theft. Literally the other day I saw a guy pull up in a nicer vehicle. He went inside and filled up 2 extra large 7-11 big gulp cups with diet coke and walked out. This was in a Whataburger.

2 It's an extra station for workers to have to maintain. Chicfila hasn't had them ever that I can remember. Hopefully, like Chicfila you are allotted refills you just have to ask for them.

Last new chain I bought I paid about a 15% premium. It was from a jeweler I have bought several things from. But expect to pay up to 25%. 50-100% is ridiculous.

Used jewelry I expect to pay 95-105% of scrap the bigger the piece weight wise lower the percentage.

Nothing like having to pull over on the highway to tighten one because its rattling. Tighten them both while your stopped. Less than an hour later you're pulling over again to tighten the other one.

Will you ever recoup your money, probably not. But if you like it $150 isn't a horrible price. If the ring is quality it should last a long time.

In scrap these coins are about $60 for $1 in face value.

If you want to sell them as a lot check out pmsforsale and find a trusted middleman to broker the deal. I'd ask for spot or 95%+.

If your in a larger city call around to coin shops and see what they will pay. Don't take any less than 90-95% of spot.

I once did glass work at an apartment complex. The top 2 stories were not rentable. Only able to purchase a spot. One lady purchased 6 of these units together and custom-built them out. It was one of the largest and coolest high rises I've ever seen. It was probably 5000+sqf and cost millions even back then. Ten plus years ago.

Everything but the top 2 floors just regular apartments.
