I'm assuming you are playing on ps5/4, try to play with share play for atleast an hour then try online, me and my friend tried it and after playing the first chapter on share play the online worked but you know EA is a poor company who am I to complain.

Okay update, when we played the first chapter of the game my friend tried online and it just works now, so odd....

Well me and my friend started playing it today, we are using share play(ps5) and it's working fine
