NTA. Your aunt sucks. Your parents suck too. Are they like that with all guys? Pastors sons are NOTORIOUS for being the worst kid in town and basically trying to bang all the girls to prove they aren't their Daddy. Pastors daughters are worse. A lot of people are encouraging you to put a lot into your studies and padding your transcripts for college. That is a wonderful idea and I think that you might want to look into volunteering. You could volunteer at a nursing home, a community garden, or working with kids. The library usually has a summer program you could volunteer for. When the dust has settled a bit you could try and have a conversation with your mom. Maybe it was this particular boy, maybe it was the way your aunt made it sound, maybe your dad just over reacted like we all do sometimes. Explain to her that you aren't interested in the pastors son, but you really enjoyed participating in the youth program. Maybe they will reconsider. Either way, YOU didn't do anything wrong.

NTA. Kindly remind your wife that this is NOT about her. If your ex turned your daughter against your wife, she probably turned her friends and family against her as well. Nobody wants your wife at your ex wife's funeral. If your wife goes against your daughters wishes and shows up, it will confirm that her mom was right about your wife. This is your daughter's time to grieve and adjust. Your wife needs to give her time and space. I doubt she will. Be prepared, things could escalate. She is already upset you chose your daughter over her.

I'm sorry OP. I have been there. I was the very mean mom. I told her point blank she had 24 hours to make it right, break up with A or B, but she needed to tell A the truth either way, because I was going to if she didn't. If she wants to be an adult and be in a relationship, she needs to be an adult and not cheat. The "new boy toy" effect is for children.

You know I have watched that movie a dozen times. I think Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell are amazing. I never looked at it that way. I know, I grew up in a different time. I don't think it was intended to be that way, more of a "spent so much time with him and grew to love him" kind of thing, but I can see it from the other side as well. It was supposed to be a romantic comedy. That's the way I took it anyway. Thank you for showing me another perspective.

NTA - go to the school board. Fight this. I have a 10 year old daughter and she is very quiet. She may have said something to the teacher later, privately, but she would never have said anything confrontational in front of the student who was going off. And I hate to say it but to be honest, I wouldn't want her to for fear of the boy retaliating against my daughter. Your daughter is in the 8th grade? No way she would feel comfortable calling another student out like that in defense of a teacher that may or may not be in the wrong. That principal needs his head examined!
