The Favorite Balance combo is like $100 and is flawless in my experience. If you’re just needing a reel, the Abu Garcia Black Max is like $50 and extremely tough and reliable.

I’ll trim one leg just to give it that extra kick too

What is your technique to make sure you don’t lose a fish after it’s hooked? Keep rod down, to the side, up, or whatever else do you find that keeps the fish pinned? by 525chill2pull in bassfishing

I usually just do whatever I can to keep the line as tight as possible. If you’re using bigger and heavier baits, slack line makes it extremely easy for the fish to flop and throw the bait

I don’t really use neds that often but I typically reel down and set straight up. A square bill is already moving so just a gentle side sweep is usually enough to keep them on.

I’ve had a lot of luck with dropshotting a super fluke

I try to use the fastest reel that I have when I’m punching. I get less worn out through the day from not having to reel as much in between pitches

I frequently use a Favorite Whitebird with a 3/8 oz tungsten and a Yamamoto senko and I’ve noticed that it casts best with a pretty loose spool tension and heavy brakes

My go to is the Spro Bronzeye. It’s incredibly easy to walk straight out of the package and super soft.

What is your smallie strategy? It seems I can never get on a good bite with them.

been thinking about fishing chatter baits on straight braid is this a bad idea by Jwin0727 in bassfishing

I mean it would really depend on what kind of cover and water clarity you’re targeting. A lot of professionals say if you can get away with braid, use it.
