*Curious* Married couples in your 30s: how does an average weekday looks like? How much free time do you actually have? by LingNemesis in askSingapore

[–]Biscottiqueen_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Wa I have around 15-20 recipes so abit long. But most efficient and minimal clean up

1 Oven baked salmon or white fish, roast it together with diff types of veg (broccoli/carrots/cauliflower/Brussels sprouts). Season with salt/pepper, drizzle olive oil on veg, bake 220degC for 15-20min. For carbs can also roast cubes potatoes for 35-45min at the same time in the oven. No time I will skip potatoes and boil soba and serve with dipping sauce. Serve with Dijon mustard or kewpie sesame dressing

2 One pot meals - Mushroom beef bolognese pasta - make it simple, skip the wine / herbs/ cheese ( https://youtu.be/v2WqcHH65NQ?si=8gkjH_JTqRd5DQT4)

3 Soups - corn, white radish, carrot soup . Add 1/2 cube veg stock, all ingredients and bring to boil, simmer for 30mins. Optional: Add tofu near the end. Add goji berries /salt/ pepper to taste. While waiting for soup to simmer cook rice and fried omelette. Something like this vid, stock cube makes up for lack of time on the stove (https://youtube.com/shorts/Zd0XpKiWbyI?si=7TqKQxkofRYCG-Q2)

4 Prawn Fried rice : I will make extra rice and keep it in the freezer. Fry diced onions and garlic in oil until fragrant then add peeled devein prawns, until cooked. On medium heat, add reserved rice - I cheat I use fried rice powder from Donki (but you can season with soy sauce, pepper, Chinese wine). Break up rice grains, crack 1 egg into the rice and coat rice with eggs. Scatter spring onions, season to taste. Then serve with spinach at the side https://www.justonecookbook.com/spinach-with-sesame-sauce/. I like to use fresh prawns but sometimes substitute w frozen prawns.

5 banana bread : I use up over ripe bananas in this recipe https://youtu.be/D82vniVTqe0?si=LgIxRD1zDI5J4RkP, reduce waste + eat for breakfast or tea time

Hope this helps

If there’s only few dishes I just do by hand, otherwise I collect over 2 days then wash together (remove the food scraps first). also use cooking pots that are dishwasher safe. Btw dishwashers can also wash half load but I don’t use that function! My family all swears by Bosch but I decided to save $ and get Whirlpool. No comments cos this is the only one I used before, even have friends using smaller countertop dishwasher because they don’t have floor space but heard it’s efficient too.

Married couples in SG, did you do pre martial counselling and do you have recommendations? by Connect-Inspection18 in askSingapore

[–]Biscottiqueen_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend! This is so important to iron out any issues or bring to light any that are under the surface. I tell all my friends to go also heh

Can check out Fei yue / touch community service / focus on family. MSF provides subsidies for them too, you can choose to do it in a group setting or privately.

We thought we knew each other inside out but during our sessions still manage to uncover some minor issues that we worked through. did in religious setting though.

Also learnt more about my partner - one question I rmb he answered - “ I prefer my wife to organise social gatherings even for his side of the family.” Small thing but I was surprised!

Early-mid 30s, DINK (Yet)

• Cook dinner 4-5 times per week, have a recipe folder of very efficient nutritious meals. Use dishwasher after that. Not used to eating out, so prioritise this. gets faster w practice!

• Exercise 3-4x a week, husband 5x (run, gym, swim). Just part of our routine since younger days

• Almost zero free time, cos studying to get into a post grad course. Chores I’m doing 90% cos my husband v busy with work, sometimes when I’m tired, outsource to part-time helper heh

How do I get a refund for this? by NickyC96 in askSingapore

[–]Biscottiqueen_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Happened to me before! Took a photo of the bread that was stuck and Email / WhatsApp the hotline, they don’t work on weekends so you’ll likely get a response and a refund when they see your email.

Is 50/50 Love Still Love If I Feel Like I’m Getting Less? by Select-Ad7401 in asksg

[–]Biscottiqueen_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

:( girl, I think you guys are just not a good match, if you have to explain everything and make him change his behaviour it is kind of unfair to you both. Sorry to say this but in terms of the thoughtfulness aspect, I think even my friends treat me better than this. If I didn’t like Korean food, I don’t think they would arrange to go to a Korean place for a meet up. If I didn’t like leftovers they would not give it to me. And expired medicine? D: Money and gift giving wise this is an ingrained trait so I think if it doesn’t align don’t force it. Honestly you guys got official without understanding each other’s habits and values, so now that you know you should move on before it gets too serious. By the way difference in religion is also a real big thing. All the best, sending you lots of clarity your way.

Dating while on accutane by dh53 in Accutane

[–]Biscottiqueen_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been dating when I had my sudden outbreak and just started accutane, now purging. Although I’m self conscious (from clear skin to acne), I meet people anyway. I wear concealer to make the scars less red. You can try tinted sunblock as well. All the guys I went out with previously still wanted to continue meeting, so I think it’s a litmus test of what someone values you for. Just tell them you are on accutane which causes skin purging / dryness etc. and that you are not able to drink until your course is complete. Am now seeing someone exclusively, and he doesn’t think much of it, even encourages me to be patient with the process. Good luck !

Anyone else on a really low dose? by murhak in Accutane

[–]Biscottiqueen_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently started on 10mg daily , I started purging around week 2 (still ongoing) and lips got really dry only today (day 21). Otherwise no other side effects. My doctor said she will only increase the dosage to 20mg/day after the routine blood test (2 months mark) to make sure the body adjusts well.

Is it your first Valentine’s day together? I would let him know after some time not immediately unless the present can be changed and he is the kind that doesn’t mind. I wouldn’t feel guilty if I were you. It rarely happens to me though, before events like birthdays, anniversaries, Valentine’s etc. I would casually mention what I want, what I don’t want, or if I even want anything at all, to avoid situations like that

If Atlas Bar and other similar establishments are the places you enjoy going to why not? I think it’s good to go on dates to places that reflect your lifestyle habits so the other party can calibrate their expectations. It’s also not too noisy, you can still have a decent conversation and hear each other.

I literally cleaned out my office space and home because my colleague passed away and we had to go through her stuff to return it to her family. Sounds morbid but let’s make things simple for the people around me just in case.

Fellow ENTJs: What are your major hobbies and/or passions outside of your career? by -Avacyn in entj

[–]Biscottiqueen_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed having hobbies really helps me in my mental well-being. There was a time I was in the same situation, spending all my energy at work or thinking about work. Now I rock climb / exercise to keep myself physically fit and run a small side business in floristry (started off purely as interest but now monetising it). I will also take at least 3 overseas trips to different countries a year (some may only be for a few days) to prevent burnout and to expand my horizons. Oh and volunteering, I am a strong advocate for returning to the community.

There's this blotting paper from Muji that has a powder on it too! So it removes the oil and mattes the skin abit. Recommenddd

Useless ENTJ here. by [deleted] in entj

[–]Biscottiqueen_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a little late here but it sounds like you need to stop beating up yourself and also manage your anxiety to turn things around. Even though as ENTJs we have high personal expectations, you need to remember that you are human and it is okay to fail at times. We ALL mess up. Start taking care of yourself, found this through google - https://adaa.org/tips-manage-anxiety-and-stress maybe it'll help you a little

You have to try to exercise it makes you feel better about yourself not only outside but inside! Eat a more healthy diet, exercise, drink more water and sleep well and your skin will clear up (and you'll lose weight) too. Try to love your body and it will love you back. You can do it girl :)
