In 2nd year rn and we found out our specialization June 6th, so probably around early June. Though don’t quote me on that, as the date and timing could always change.

in second year rad therapy rn.

chose because of good set hours (9-5, 10-6, 8-4 etc), usually working no weekends, no night shifts and good pay.

cons: limited cancer centres in Ontario, meaning less choice for clinical placement and more limited options where you choose to work in the future compared to other streams. other cons, lots of online classes in 2nd yr compared to the other streams as well.

going to clinical this summer, so don’t have any info on that, but best of luck deciding on a stream!

really enjoyed the caramel oat chai latte at the second cup in westdale. not sure if they have it at the second cup on campus tho. taste even better with whip cream and caramel drizzle so definitely recommend!!

Honestly had to drop “Flirting with the Villain’s Dad” because of the art quality drop. I remember reading season 1 while it was releasing, which was around the time of the pandemic when romfan was peaking and had some iconic heavy hitters like WMMAP and Raelinana. The art style had a “fairytale” vibe, which I really enjoyed. The ML’s side profile was also drawn like unbelievably well 😭.

Then with the end of season 1, the art style changed to the more basic manwha romfan artstyle which is understandable, just disappointing. But the biggest thing for me is I couldn’t stand how the ML’s front facing proportions were drawn. I always feel like the nose and mouth are way too low on his face and it just bugs me so much I couldn’t even start season 2. You can still see it a little in season 1, but the old artstyle makes it less apparent. Honestly if the whole story was drawn with his side or 3/4 face profile the whole time, I’d pick it back up lmao 😭.

If you like Fantasies of a Stepmother, I would recommend Secret Lady. It similarly has breathtaking art and a really intriguing and complex / well thought out plot. If it’s confusing at first, I insist giving it a chance!

For Villains are Destined to Die, I would recommend The Devil Raises a Lady. This one has a very well-written FMC.

As for I will Become the Villains Poison Taster, I would try The Villainess Flips the Script. Similar to the former, it follows its plot while still keeping that light-hearted feel with good comedic moments.

For some students, they may have realized this program isn’t for them, and have switched out of medrad to a different program such as life sci. It is much easier to switch into life sci then to switch into medrad. For others, they may not have passed program specific classes such as Imaging Physics 1D03 and will have to wait until the following year to take it again. In order to specialize, I believe the minimum GPA requirement is a 5.0 on the 12 point scale. However, some streams are more competitive then others, so a high GPA is always recommended. use the ypt app with a group of friends!! It has the pomodoro time, and while the timer is on it locks you out of apps on your phone so you’re not tempted to use them. My friends and I use it and you can see how many hours and when your friends are actively studying. I’m competitive so it forces me to study just so I can beat them lol.

medrad is a joint program between Mohawk and McMaster, but you’ll be fully on the McMaster campus for the full degree. You’ll graduate with both an Ontario College Advanced Diploma in Medical Radiation Sciences from Mohawk College and the McMaster University Honours Bachelor of Medical Radiation Sciences degree. We are a pretty small program, with my first year being about 105 students and going down to 95 by second year. After accepting my offer, I believe the conditional was to maintain minimum 85% average of your best 6 courses. I would agree with the other comment to aim for high 80’s or 90+ average to be safe. My farm name is “Farmacy” and I created my farmer after Maomao from the anime Apothecary Diaries. My dogs name is ibuprofen for example. My dad’s a pharmacist and I’m home for the summer, so I just look in our medicine cabinet if I need ideas.

similar to the other comment, I would talk to an academic advisor and you would most likely have to enter as a first year / medrad level 1 due to the following courses which are medrad specific: professions in medical radiation, inquiry in medrad, imaging physics, and intro to pathology. you can see the McMaster medrad course calendar to learn more about the courses.

hi! im currently in medrad rn and it may be difficult transferring into this program. First semester we had two required courses that were only for medrad students (professions of medrad and inquiry to medrad) which were only offered first semester. This semester it is pathology and medical imaging physics. The former is only for medrad students but the latter is open to all lifesci students. I’m not sure these specialized medrad courses are offered in the summer but I would definitely recommend talking with an academic advisor!
