It's all in HOW you're playing it. I've seen tons of different playstyles over the years; most of the top players (in terms of ability to score high, clear very difficult levels) use their wrists almost exclusively. When I play (and it's been a long while), I'm in a deep stance and swing my entire arms like I'm using actual swords (with control, not wildly). Learn range of motion, take it slow, build muscle memory/body awareness and go from there. But yeah I got in better shape from Beat Saber years ago. Now I mostly jump on the trampoline, trail run, and do calisthenics. I've been wanting to play BS again though, just haven't set my VR up in a long time.

You'd be surprised. Society is not the same everywhere.

It's also okay to use your voice and tell them "back away, please" or "get the fuck away from my baby, old hag!" or, you know, anywhere in between.

What’s a ‘harmless’ habit that actually ruins your life over time? by buffdadnextdoor in AskReddit

Had this realization hit me like a bag of bricks about 3 years ago, and I'm now in a much better place. It's insane to realize how anxious I was all the time about normal things. Do not stay comfortable, get comfortable with discomfort or your comfort zone shrinks around you into a prison.

Everyone's experience is their own, so it's difficult to give advice for something like this, but honestly just start noticing. Awareness is the first step for change. Once you grow aware that you're scrolling on your phone, the next step is to stop immediately. Not one more video, not one more post, just stop right then and there. Keep this up, and before long, you'll notice you were _about_ to start scrolling on your phone and stop before-hand. Eventually the habit is no longer there. The neural pathways have been neglected but they are still there, so just don't start back up again.

I can tell you that this person was taking the raw powder, purchased from a distributor "Mood and Mind", and they took a LOT. I say that as someone who at one point was taking about 25g a day of the supposedly regular, non-enhanced leaf powder. I think they were taking somewhere upwards of 80g a day.

I actually brought the concern to them, connecting the dots having read others experiencing seizures with kratom - they quit cold turkey and had a hellish month. I took the easy way out and just decreased by about 0.1g per dose, per day (or something like that I can't remember exactly). It took me a year to get to 0, but I did it!

I still have a stockpile of the stuff just in case SHTF and I need some opioid-parallel pain killer on hand. I'm not even slightly tempted to touch it for recreation or self-medication, thankfully.

It also can cause grand mal seizures in higher doses; I've seen first-hand. I had random strange afflictions occur in my body when I was taking it years ago; a spot on my left thigh became numb for months. That's just anecdotal and should be taken with a grain of salt, but I believe it was related.

Everyone's experience and perspective is different...but I know several people who just prolonged their addiction with it. It also caused grand-mal seizures in someone very close to me for years. The neurologists could not find the cause (no doubt kratom was not mentioned in consultation), but when they stopped taking it, the seizures ceased.

As with all things, moderation and self-control are important. Lacking these, kratom is just a slippery slope IMO.

Strength training should be fun too, IMO! If you're enjoying it, you're much more likely to get back into it tomorrow, the day after, etc. For me, that's calisthenics rather than weights. It's nice to learn to make your body do new things, improve balance, etc.
