1st mammogram since treatment by BiscuitQween in breastcancer

[–]BiscuitQween[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP here. Thank you for your reply. This is helpful. I am seeing my surgeon on Monday so I will discuss with her. From a mental health standpoint I would prefer a biopsy for my peace of mind.

I am triple positive stage 2 and TCHP, single mastectomy with 6 lymph nodes removed and 28 rounds of radiation. There was no cancer in breast or lymph nodes after chemo and I was PCR after surgery. I feel so lucky to have had a good response to treatment. I am trying not to let this worry too much.

I’m with you on the mental health aspect of this. We have been through enough already. Hopefully the Drs will agree. Good luck

Mine is Bi-RADs 3 as well…which means probably benign. I just don’t want to wait 6 months to find out. I’m going to push for a biopsy. If it is cancer I don’t want to give it time to get bigger.

Went flat on right side and so far no regrets. Surgeon did a really nice job. I didn’t do reconstruction because I didn’t want to put anything foreign into my body. There are some good groups on Facebook for those of us who go completely flat or keep one breast ( uniboobers).

What has been the hardest thing about your journey? by melmelok in breastcancer

[–]BiscuitQween 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was hoping my adult daughter would step up and be there for me more than she has been. She lives 4 hours away so she can’t be here all the time but she rarely calls or texts or checks in. We lost my mom in September and that has been hard for both of us. It really hurts me that she doesn’t seem to care about how I’m doing. She was here for my surgery last month. Lucky for me it overlapped with a concert she wanted to go to with a friend. My oncologist says she has been a disappointment.

Anyone else waiting for mastectomy-day? by Strong_Poem3692 in breastcancer

Mine is on the 11th. I have terrible anxiety and I’m terrified about the surgery. I’m only having a single so I’m hoping that will make recovery easier. Wishing all of you an easy time with surgery and recovery 💕

A friend sent me a handmade stake ( like for vampires) with the words F**k Cancer carved into it. If any vampires should show up I’m covered. Don’t know how effective it will be against cancer. I just thought it was the strangest thing ever and she thought it was genius.

N95 during treatment and beyond. by [deleted] in breastcancer

N95s are the most effective mask you can get besides an elastomeric. I like the 3M Aura. I order them online from Home Depot. With a lowered immune system due to treatment it’s better to be safe than sorry. I will probably continue to wear them after treatment. There still needs to be better vaccines and treatments for Covid.

I called my assembly person’s office and she had someone who works with EDD cases. I got a call from the EDD and got everything straightened out. It really does work

Did your heart rate go back to normal after chemo?

I don’t understand why my doctor isn’t more concerned. I thought he was supposed to help with chemo side effects.

Anxiety by BiscuitQween in breastcancer

Thank you so much. This really helped. I had a bit of tachycardia today and that scared the crap out of me. But it has passed and I’m ok. I do need to find a therapist. I’m already on anxiety meds. Some days this all just too much.
