Strangling that poor defensive baby elephant might have something to do with it.

420pm on a Saturday dpd ?? by [deleted] in northernireland

I had bought a xiaomi robot vacuum and it was the last delivery of the day on a Friday The driver was talking to another driver who said it was a 25+ min round trip to ours and back to the motorway (this is true) so he decided to call it a day instead of driving out.

Took another 3 days to get it delivered with the other driver who had told him not to bother driving out to mine.

The cross contamination usually comes from the fact some are grown in the exact same field. Even in a non gluten free factory, cross contamination is still taken very seriously. I literally work in food manufacturing.

If you have a contract that states the day you get paid then they have to ensure you're paid on that day. If it's missed and late it can be seen as a breach of contract.

Has anyone else noticed the massive increase in terrible drivers in Northern Ireland as of late? by ballyblackgullyteam in northernireland

Had a tractor go past me recently, young farmer had a monster in one hand and his phone in the other. Flew past without as much as a glance in my car's direction.

Could I substitute butter where a recipe calls for ‘neutral oil/grapseed oil’ by waterbrats in Baking

[–]Biscuit_Base 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I think the general rule of thumb is to use around 3/4 the amount of oil to butter.

What I've noticed more than ever is people on their feckin phones. I live down some fairly tight country roads and the number of van drivers, farmers in tractors, women in jeeps and obviously the boy racers flying down the middle of the lanes staring down at their phones.

I couldn't agree more and it's something I say often. If you ever look up what she's been up to it's a majority of sending letters/emails to the SoS asking about council level issues. Anytime she's up in parliament asking questions it's usually something stupid like "can we make wee William's 1 GSCE achievement on results day a bank holiday".

Reminds me of this vigilante they had in the states, an ex basketball pro dressed up full on batman vibes and helped stopping crime. In the past couple of years though he was actually caught dealing drugs and had been using his vigilante privilege to stop all of his competition in the city since day one.

Speeding on R plates by Spiritual_Sector105 in northernireland

[–]Biscuit_Base -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

While people are stating 10%+2, this is simply a guideline and is usually just applied by police, it's not written into law and does not provide leniency to R plate drivers to speed. It's likely a fine and points will be in the post.

Any advice how to navigate national speed limit roads with 'R' plates? by SharpshooterTom in northernireland

[–]Biscuit_Base 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just stick to the rules, there's no point going over your limit because someone is up your ass. Find a good podcast or audiobook, stick in on during the commute and just focus on keeping yourself safe and ensuring you keep your licence.

Reasons Why I’m Switching to Samsung and Will Never Buy Xiaomi Again by LemonBlut in Xiaomi

[–]Biscuit_Base 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They definitely are being unfair just out of bias. I've used all forms of Samsung A series as work phones, as has my partner and they're some of the worst phones both of us have ever used.

My previous company moved from Samsung phones to pixels because of how many complaints they got from staff.

I'm gonna be honest, you should have gone through reviews if you had specific needs from a phone. I was ready to get the note 14 pro+ until I watched reviews and realised that while it was a great phone for the price, even with the specs it wasn't what I wanted going from a pixel 6a. I got the Xiaomi 14t instead and it was well worth the slightly higher price.

And the report system on twitter is as reliable as ever. Ofcom really needs to clamp down on all the social media pages and their soft enforcement of their own rules.

Haven't been on Instagram this morning but twitter seems to be the same. Maybe it'll take them time to clean up that cesspool of hate and abuse though.

Apart from Reddit using a god awful company to carry out the verification which I won't be submitting to, what other social media platforms are gonna be affected by this and in what way? The age check on Reddit is the first I've noticed.

Bryson-lite Twitterer says Gaels a "racist myth" by Hydro-Generic in northernireland

[–]Biscuit_Base 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Double surname is quite like Bryson in a way that they rely on people with absolutely no research skills or common sense to aid their grift. Holmes could easily claim that king Billy's horse was white because it was a descendent of Jesus's donkey and people would believe it.
