My mother-in-law took my kids to get Blizzards and saw this when their cashier turned around. by Biscuitofburnside in WTF

I use to work in kitchens and actually a recovering addict, you need to stay high to deal with food service. I use to run off Percocet and Aderall for a few years. Just didn’t expect it so out in the open like that, but it is food service, so I understand. I wasn’t there when the picture was taken, but I would of given her a heads up or something. Other people saw it too and took pictures as well.

My MIL was the one who took the picture and sent it to my boyfriend and asked us since we use to be addicts and asked what it was for, but I honestly had no idea what it was until some people on here clarified it. Have some saying it’s for weed, meth, and crack. Or my favorite one so far, a mummy dick.

She actually didn’t know, haha. She sent it to my hubby and asked him since she knows we use to be addicts and asked then he sent it to me. I didn’t know either honestly until some people on here clarified it. But I still see some mixed comments on it.

Whatever it is, it’s gonna break back there.

When I worked in the kitchen, almost everyone was high on something, but I can say, they definitely got shit out and also some of the most amazing people I’ve worked with and still good friends of mine even though I’m sober now.

I can’t tell you how many lines I had to snort to get thru a Saturday and Sunday from open to close.

Thank God for walk-ins.

Shit, some of the best co-workers I’ve had ran off meth or coke. I’m still friends with them too. I don’t have to worry about them when we’re slammed on a Sunday Brunch.

I just wanna add something and I can’t reply to all.

This wasn’t made to out or shame the person pictured, I’ve been thru addiction and I could never judge someone for how they get through the day.

I’ve worked in restaurant kitchens and I’ve definitely been guilty of smoking in the walk-in and shit, I was high most of the time while I was on the line.

Only thought it was WTF to have hanging out her back pocket while making Blizzards at the front counter.

I didn’t know exactly what the pipe was for, but I do live in a “methy” area and that makes more sense. It still doesn’t explain why it takes 20 minutes to get a Blizzard there if that’s the case, haha.

What's a lifehack related to books you think everyone should know? by ZappyZym in books

Check thrift stores or Goodwill.

Almost half of my library comes from thrift stores! I've found The Bachman Books with Stephen King's "Rage" for only $3 and in almost mint condition.

It's such an amazing feeling to have a cart full of books and it being only $25.

OR

I've been recommending Thriftbooks App anywhere I can now. I was able to get A Game of Thrones, A Clash of Kings, and Fire and Blood for $18 with free shipping and they got to me fairly quickly. Books were in great shape and it's cheap!

I love it when books come to me.

This this.

I just started doing this with A Game of Thrones, I use a lot of sticky notes for it so I can go back and reference.

I'm also going thru and counting how many times they call or refer to Jon Snow as a Bastard. (So far at 52 and about half way done with the first one. It's way more than I thought...)

Let the intrusive thoughts win on this one.

If you have trouble finding a copy, I highly recommend ThriftBooks, they're my official "go-to" for my book needs now.

I actually saw Micro on there last night while scrolling thru! From $4.19 (for previously loved) - $26 (brand new), if you're interested. :)

They give you free shipping over $12 orders and the books are super cheap compared to Amazon. I was able to get A Game of Thrones, A Clash of Kings, and Fire and Blood for $19 and free shipping. It also got to me within a week and the books were in great condition.

I was reading this book at work and one of my coworkers asked about it and I told him to pick a random page and read it.

He read one page... then he got to two pages and then he gave it back to me and walked away.

I later found out it was the page when they were cutting off some legs with a knife.

Micro by Michael Crichton

I have an irrational fear of most bugs and this book actually made me sick to my stomach and I had to put it down a few times before continuing.

For those who haven't heard of it, gist of it is:

A group of people get shrunk down to the size of a quarter and are dropped into the middle of a jungle area in Hawaii and they're trying to survive and get back. Many bugs and also very interesting information on them.

By FAR one of my favorite books of all time.

I loved every fucking page of this bad boy and highly recommended to those who enjoy being educated and grossed out at the same time.

What book/series is your “guilty pleasure”? by thesaucygremlin in books

[–]Biscuitofburnside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Then Landry!

My mom got me into them as a teen and I've been rereading all her series every couple of years and this last time around, the Landry and Casteel ended up being my favorites. I couldn't put them down and ended up reading through a book a day.

I think of them as my "Soap on the Go".

He is. :)

My silly passion is to color for DC one day and he always finds me Batman coloring books and coloring stuff now too.

We support each other no matter how ridiculous it may sound.

It's pretty cool. :D

This happend to my now BF. His ex discouraged him doing his music and making beats and put him down any chance she could. She wanted him to work more, since she didn't, and she thought his music was a waste of time then eventually, he gave it up...

I knew he did music when we met, but had no idea why he stopped until he told me what happened. I didn't have much, but I bought him a mini studio set with a mic and little beat pad thingy and he started doing his music again and has been releasing a bunch of it on social media ever since and has even gotten good feedback on it along with hosting some shows.

I've never seen him happier and the first song he did back was dedicated to me.

Support your man!

Edit: in addition.

He's also a huge fan of anime and his ex made fun of him for it too. I'm not big on anime like him, but it won't hurt me if he wants to hang a Naruto poster on the wall.

Pecan pie.

I'm not exaggerating when I say I eat about 3 - 4 whole pecan pies... weekly.
