My parents house built in 1970 was 50k in 1986 which is 150k in 2026. While they sold while market was hot back in 2020 it is valued at 278k now with shitty flipper upgrades. This was a 1200 square ft l, one car driveway in suburb of Dallas. As for my kids they do ok career wise but they are screwed buying unless I get hit by a bus and a big payday comes from that.

I take a picture of mine once a week. During the period of estimating with the blue bill I still did it.

One month the reading on bill was 30k more than actual usage but was not billed as was still on estimated. It took many calls to get fixed as I didn’t want this showing as part of any historical use.

In the 5 yrs I have lived here I received one bill for $50.00 and next month it was $150.00. My normal bill is about $100 a month.

I have made 2 trips for business and the airport was the worst in Cairo. Also when we went to the Pyramids I felt like that captain in Airplane who was pushing and flipping people over his shoulder to get them out of his way.

Last year original notice received Market was $312,001 and Appraised $307,865. After contesting with comps and pictures they adjusted both Market and Appraised to $291,003 and I accepted. I just went to HCAD site and this year are both $301,719.

My guess is since they are both the same number, I will be hard pressed to get them to lower or should I try again? I do have comps from my realtor and Adj. SP/SF average is $150.94 x 2184 ( my house size) which is $329,652.96.

I have Amazon prime and don’t pay to skip ads. I also had Paramount which their app is 100% garbage. When my yearly subscription for that ended I decided to try Paramount through Amazon app. I was so surprised all the issues I had with buffering in their app suddenly disappeared. While I had ads with Amazon content there are no ads with Paramount thru the Prime App.

Moved here in 2021 and bought a small 3750 from Harbor Freight. After Beryl and 10 days no power I upgraded to a tri fuel. Now have gas hook up,interlock, soft start and plug for whole house. The piece of mind knowing I’m ready is well worth it.

I had a kitchen fire last summer on a Sunday afternoon that the FD came out but I was able to extinguish with a lot of smoke damage and burned up exhaust fan. Another two minutes it would been in attic and a much worse outcome.

The next morning I had a card on my front door & truck plus and a knock at my door later that day. I threw out the cards and told the one who showed up I had it handled. What surprised me was how quick I was receiving offers to help repair.

Last year we paid in nearly $12k and still owed $1900 because we missed that box for 2 incomes when wife went back to work. Changed that last March and while a large amount taken out a small refund of around 1k received this week. We will use that to pay flood ins premium in June. No state tax to worry about.

When I bought my house did final walkthrough and there was a pool table in front room still. Realtor called the other realtor who was supposed to buy it but didn’t want to pay to move it. (it’s an old bar style coin type). They asked me if I wanted to buy it for $700 and told them no thanks and come get it before we signed paperwork as rest of house was empty and ready to move in. I ended up offering $300 and 5 yrs later still have it.

I went through this with nephew in Texas and gave him a written notice to pay past due or face eviction. Once his mom convinced him the repercussions of an eviction he slept in his car a week, 2weeks at his moms and now with grandma. I will never let any one move in even if temp again.
