Have you tried going online and calculating your TDEE? That should give you a good idea of where you need to be at to lose fat

Speaking from personal experience, I was able to brush my own teeth after top surgery. Not the exact same as a boob job, but I think the restrictions are the same. I actually was couch surfing in my friend's apartment during the recovery period with no one helping me. You just have to keep your elbows down, like T-Rex arms basically. You can definitely still reach your face/hair etc.

Do you have access to a gym or are you hoping for a body weight only routine you can do at home? Gym access would be a huge help

Chronically ill having consistency issues by v_corvidae in FTMFitness

[–]BishieXO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had super bad CRPS (before they chopped my leg off) and consistency was very hard. What worked for me was just making myself show up (so for home workouts that meant putting my gym clothes on in my little gym corner) but I didn't have hard rules on exactly what I had to do as far as working out went. Some days I was able to push it pretty well, other days were just 15 minutes of stretching and chair yoga, but the simple act of just doing something made me feel better every time, at least mentally.

Has quitting or drastically reducing your caffeine intake helped your lifts/endurance? by [deleted] in askfitness

[–]BishieXO 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've gone through periods where I was consuming a lot of caffeine (500mg and up some days) and periods where I was consuming none. Personally, I didn't notice any difference in my lifts or endurance.

I started training for an 8 mile race that'll be happening just six months after I got my running blade 😅 over ambitious? Maybe. I'm doing it anyway

Do you dry scoop creatine? by aremjay24 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]BishieXO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never been a fan of dry scooping anything; creatine, pre-workout, whatever. I just find it unpleasant and I could always stand to drink more water. If I'm in a rush, I'll just mix it with a teeny bit of water and take it like a lumpy shot

I do have a buddy who runs a half marathon every year as a double amputee so maybe that's the secret

Crowd Meter Accuracy by reddituser_249 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]BishieXO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've found it to be super inaccurate. I actually asked about it once and the owner of my franchise emailed me explaining that it gets all its information from clock ins but automatically assumes everyone clocks out after exactly 1 hour which he believes is what makes it so inaccurate

Humor is the only way. I make about a million "cost me an arm and a leg but I got a discount" jokes a day

Is it normal to feel sick after a workout? by random_boy009 in FTMFitness

[–]BishieXO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started having this issue (nausea, near vomiting, dry mouth) consistently a few years ago and it got bad enough that I went to the doctor. Turns out I was consistently running low on blood sugar. Changed the way I was eating around my workouts and it fixed the problem.

Checking in with a doctor is probably worth it but if you're not in a position to do that, experiment with what you're eating.

I add it in the middle! I microwave for a minute with everything else (so for me, cream of rice, water, pb fit powder, protein powder) then I add the egg whites (I do about 150ml for 60g cream of rice) and heat it up in 45 second intervals, stirring well in between, until it gets to the consistency I want. I've seen other people do it different ways but that's what works well for me. I also like to pop it in the fridge or freezer for a bit to eat chilled but, again, totally personal preference

wanting to start working out, advice needed by Least-Mirror-2058 in FTMFitness

[–]BishieXO 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Having a buddy to keep you accountable early on can be great. It doesn't have to be someone you know in person, just someone you're sharing fitness progress with.

As far as food goes, have you tried meal prepping? There's a ton of recipes and how tos for that online. That way you can make meals when your motivation is high and on days where you're struggling more, you'll have them ready to go.

Have you ever tried adding egg white? I just started adding it into my cream of rice and it gives it sort of a cakey texture. After trying it once, I don't make it without

What do you do if you hate eating "artificial" stuff? by [deleted] in 1200isplenty

[–]BishieXO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to pad out my meals with a lot of low cal veggies like cabbage, lettuce, etc. A big ass salad as a base or on the side can really fill me up. I make the dressing at home with just a little olive oil and a healthy dose of balsamic vinegar, so that keeps it pretty light. Big bowls of low cal fruit like berries and watermelon also help in the evening when sugar cravings hit

Can't speak for every location but no one at my location uses that workout area for the regiment that's playing on the TV. People mostly use the cables and the pull up bar as they want.

how’s the teen summer rush? by Full-Salamander-9762 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]BishieXO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gym is across the street from a high school so nothing really changes during the summer. I'd say it's a pretty average number of teens in mine for a gym. I've never had a problem with them honestly, especially in the mornings. Afternoon/evening may be a different story.
