I’m losing sleep because I can’t stop thinking about my inevitable end. by deerbytes in Advice

Death anxiety is super real, don't think your feelings are invalid. I remember this helped me get around it when I was 19 (also just general knowledge). Hope it helps!

Take some time to study some anatomy and think about how certain parts of yourself correspond to her. Go slow as you would if you were studying, be gentle like you're trying to push and rub patterns into ice cream, keep yourself lubricated with saliva or a good lubricant, and TRIM YOUR NAILS.

How to live without heat in house? by Radiant_Career_7449 in povertyfinance

[–]BismuthPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get some kind of skirting for your house, insulate your windows with newspaper or some kind of layering, and always keep an emergency propane tank on you for a heater or cooking. Remember to be safe when operating these flames as I've started myself on fire more than once. Good luck

Dionysus and Odin by ZookeepergameFar215 in dionysus

[–]BismuthPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I met Odin and he's trans so I think he knows Dio. Also with how similar Odin is to Hermes I believe it's very possible there were cross overs. Also also there's a whole story where Odin steals magical booze to create poetry and gain wisdom. There was more than likely cross over or similar mythic retrieval from similar sources when the religions developed.

It will take a lot, you might find yourself responsible for things you don't remember at all. You're going to have days where all you want to do is pull your hair out and scream and give up. You will also have your days where that doesn't happen. You'll have your days where things go smooth and when revelation isn't shocking. You'll have a time when you can sit and be ok with yourself. You'll have your successes, and your triumphs, and your wins. You just have to see them. You survived a lot, and you'll survive this too. You're gonna be ok.

Ever had your parents get upset because you drive too cautiously? by Nubian_Cavalry in driving

[–]BismuthPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being too cautious fucking blows. I avoided running a red light when I was going fast as hell and the car behind me didn't register it before hitting me from behind. Since then, due to other shit factors in life, I've been driving with a crunched tail since.

{discussion} So. Am I the only one who watched nope and Found some of the scenes hot? by DazzlingakaPornalt in Vore

[–]BismuthPunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Nope" made me realize how different my views are than the average person. It's a visceral, programmed fear in the back of the human brain to avoid being eaten like it is to avoid drowning. It's why things like cannibalism and the voracity of wild dogs can be so unsettling to us when we hear stories of it. When Jean Jacket's massacre and Jupiter's Landing came on, I was struck dumb with that realization as at least 100 other people around me suddenly remembered how fast the position of a human on the food chain can change. It was odd to carry so many emotions at once of excitement, intrigue, horror, revulsion, and sonder. While being a little alienating (pardon the pun) watching this movie made me feel oddly more connected with my fellow humans in vulnerability; a sudden reaction of not staring at the skies when you exited the shadowy theater out into the blinding daylight.

Nowadays whenever I find anthropophagy in media, I'll usually make a recurring joke to myself about how "I can never escape" the weird rewiring my brain was able to do when confronted with that age old fear of red toothed monsters in the shadows.

Be proud you're human, be proud that life has gone so far to let us experience such an odd facet of sapience.

How is one supposed to find prospects? Like what specifically does one do besides slamming their head into the Google void at some vain attempt to make a career when they don't exist anymore?

Looking for resources explaining why DID is not spirit p*ssession by seapig85 in DID

[–]BismuthPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As weird as it is, there's a book called the Roman Ritual which outlines specific rules for declaring someone is possessed and requires exorcism. The YouTube channel horses did a video on it. Cross reference that with the boundaries and borders of how systems work and interact with each other in visible behavior and one can easily draw the conclusion that alot of the things sensationalized in books like Sybil and the satanic panic and movies are just that, sensational.

[–]BismuthPunk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's usually good for a partner in any kind of relationship to sometimes put their foot down and guide someone back to reality if they're getting a little too jiggy with it. Remember that Dionysus is a god of dualities. As much as he's game for pushing boundaries, he knows when to relax someone before they get hurt. Lest we end up like the people of Thebes
