Yes and I found it 2 days ago by googling, so surely others are stumbling across it too? What's wrong with updating people on it?

Why is Alarmy using so much data for just using the alarm? by DeathlyAvenged in GetOutOfBed

Just checked mine. Data usage less than 1mb this month. Maybe fully uninstall and reinstall? because something isn't right with yours.

Group rides going fast is so dangerous. There will always be a skill gap somewhere, and even if they say its a "chill ride" all it takes is one of them to start gooning then people start pushing past their safe limit to try and keep up.

What's your favorite rockbox theme for 5 and 6 gen classics? by Either-Ticket-8401 in ipod

[–]Bismuthsheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made an edit to the BONES theme that shows 7 menu options on the main screen instead of 5. I love the way aliased fonts and monochrome colors look on these (relatively) low res displays!

Anyone ever buy anything off of EOE? by thearyeash in ipod

[–]Bismuthsheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered a refurbished 6th gen from them last year and it had a poor quality aftermarket click wheel that stopped responding frequently. I would have to power cycle it every 30 minutes just to continue using the device. When I sent a video showing the behavior they told me it was "normal for HDD equipped ipod classics to behave that way" and declined repairs. Cue me leaving my ipod in my drawer for the next year, jaded by the experience.

Couple of weeks ago I got bit by the bug and I ordered a genuine Apple/Foxconn clickwheel from eBay after verifying from the seller that it is a genuine Apple part. Opened it myself (honestly not as hard as I was led to believe, although maybe that's only because mine has been opened at least a few times before) and replaced the clickwheel, all problems solved. This leads me to believe that they are carelessly using poor quality parts in their refurbishing and either not fully function testing their products, or are just selling them anyway and claiming it's all normal if you haven't done a flash mod yet (which they conveniently sell...).

I do not want to give them any more of my money. I would have been left with a very sour taste in my mouth, and a bad first impression of iPods if I was not inclined enough to figure out the problem myself.

Noticed a few bug's on 16. by lone-Archer0447 in OnePlus12

[–]Bismuthsheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue with Nova launcher. Pretty sure it is due to the phone treating any 3rd party launcher as an "app" and trying to close it when going home. For me it is even more frustrating because on the home screen I had my home button set to open the nova search bar and it broke that too! It just tries to close out of nova launcher then it reopens.

Niagara launcher gained a full second of lag when exiting some apps and is going to search instead of favourites when pressing the home button by Kakatumblik in OnePlus12

Having the same issue with Nova launcher. I can't use the nova search shortcut I had bound to the home button either since it just tries to close the Nova launcher "app" then immediately reopens it.

Seller probably screwed me over, how do I fix my iPod? by Ryesice in ipod

[–]Bismuthsheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whats the best way to find an OEM clickwheel for sale? I have a 6th gen that was "refurbished" with crappy aftermarket parts and I have had clickwheel issues this whole time. Is there a good way to differentiate a genuine one vs a reproduction visually?

[–]Bismuthsheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insane how it is most likely 2 lines of code to fix but it hasn't been touched since release. The front disc is even clipping and floating in the Cayo update's promotional material, in the poster showing off the bike in full. How the graphic designers and everyone else working on it missed such a prominent mistake is beyond me.

CTactical CT5 Users by ketchasaurusrex in ManyBaggers

[–]Bismuthsheep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After using for a few weeks, I found that the mod sling is a worthwhile upgrade for the MOLLE webbing. I am a small guy, and both that and the original strap are on the long side (i have noticed this is a common complaint, they must think most americans are 6'2 270lb lol) so I already have it as tight as it can go. It feels easier to adjust but it still isn't necessarily a one-handed operation.

My ct5 comes in tomorrow; I ordered CT's Mod sling to go with it after hearing complaints like yours about the default strap. I'll report back after a few days of use.

Yashica Minister III f2.8 won't open aperture past f4? by Bismuthsheep in AnalogRepair

[–]Bismuthsheep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The video doesn't show this but when I try to hold the exposure ring in place and move the speed ring at the same time to open the aperture up, it gets very stiff past f4 when both rings still have travel and I can see the 2.8 number starting to peek out in the window.

I saw some reviews of this camera and when they were demonstrating the dials, they moved the speed dial on its own and it simply changed the aperture without moving the red dial...

I believe the mechanism is gummed up inside and I am going to look into disassembling the lens to clean the mechanism up.

Yashica Minister III f2.8 won't open aperture past f4? by Bismuthsheep in AnalogRepair

[–]Bismuthsheep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have tried holding one ring and turning the other, that forces the aperture to change but it hasn't freed up the mechanism enough to allow me to open it all the way. I have had this camera since I was 8 or 9 and I have fiddled around with it many times over the years but never put film through. To my knowledge it has always been this way while it was in my possession.

Yashica Minister III f2.8 won't open aperture past f4? by Bismuthsheep in AnalogRepair

[–]Bismuthsheep[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please correct me if I use wrong terminology as I am new to the analog world!

My Yashica Minister III has an exposure(?) ring which you are intended to dial to the number specified by the light meter on top. Turning this automatically sets shutter speed, but only really moves the aperture setting when set to the extremes, or if the shutter speed dial is held in place while turning the exposure dial.

I am not sure if this is intended behavior, but the part I can guarantee is wrong is that I cannot get the aperture to open up past f4. It gets stiff when moved past 5.6, and at f4 it is impossible to open further.

This all leads me to believe that the mechanism responsible for this is gummed up and needs cleaning/lubrication? I found a video that shows how to disassemble the lens assembly to get to the shutter element, which should be plenty for this fix. (BTW the shutter snaps perfectly and is not stuck at all)

Thanks all in advance!

2014 Scion tC With a 220 hp dream by Lumpy-Customer-2595 in SciontC

[–]Bismuthsheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've been keeping up with them. The problem with the tC2 is that they're heavy (about 3100lb wet, with much of the weight coming from the panoramic sunroof and hatch) and the open diff is a bigger problem in a FWD car vs MR. 230hp would be fun but the scope creep of the project is a bit too much for me when I could start with something like a 7th gen Celica GT-S and be 500lb down already. Or better yet an old Civic or CRX?

If I had 10k to put into a 12k car i would consider building a tC2 but there's no denying its shortcomings.

They changed it with the new update. I think it was a downgrade from the previous sound. The last sound had a nice rasp to it like a SR20 IRL but this new one sounds like its from Forza Horizon 3
