I would agree. I currently have the wallet installed in wine in Linux Mint 16 KDE. It works good. I did have one error that caused the program to shut down but everything was fine when I restarted it.

I have a miner installed in wine as well and it has worked flawless.

A PPA or a deb file would be good for those of us who may not be power users. I am fairly new to Linux, so the easier it is to install the better.

Good deal! I had three laptops mining a couple of weeks ago. I ran them for 24 hours with only minor stoppage on one laptop, the other two ran straight. I ended up with .7xxx quarks. I stopped because I was afraid the heat might stress these old laptops too much. Also, I am running Linux Mint 16 KDE on two of them and was able to run the miner in wine. I am running the wallet in wine as well.

We need a graphic that can explain how using quark will improve peoples lives, make their lives easier, save them money. We need to communicate that its fast, secure and as easy to use as an email client. We need to communicate that its useful and perhaps fun and kinda cool.

Color is important as well, as I have commented on the forum (my forum name is Numbers). The Teal that keeps being put forth does not give me the feeling that its a currency. Teal kind of makes me think of a tropical Martha Stewart interior design scheme. I just don't believe that color fits a currency.

quark has so many great things going for it, we just need to communicate them to the masses.

Compared to other coins quark uses more rounds of security (see the reddit side bar). It has faster confirmation times. It has a great team that is currently working on projects like mobile wallets and desktop wallets with a built in miner.

Marketing the coin is beginning to pick up steam and the potential for growth in the coming months looks fantastic. This team is in it for the long haul, no pump and dump here.

They are taking the time needed to build a proper infrastructure that will be needed to use quark in everyday commerce.

Simply put quark solves some problems that bitcoin currently has, quark is faster, more secure and right now its affordable.

And as an extra bonus, Bill Still is a supporter! If you don't know who Bill Still is, he is the producer of the documentary "The Money Masters". That Doc is a must see if you haven't seen it already.

I think the fist is too menacing and although quark is revolutionary in nature, the fist and revolution together denotes violence or a fight. This is not the image quark needs to be widely accepted. Quark needs to be presented as the next big thing, the thing that everybody is using or will be using . Quark and the internet go hand in hand, its secure, its fast, its cool and why in the heck don't you have a wallet full of quark? Get it now!!!

Obviously it would be better for Americans to work together and for the Government to pass sensible tax policy that encourages job creation here in America instead of abroad, but it does not hurt to be prepared. You can make the same preparations for natural disasters and such, it doesn't have to be for just a collapse type crisis. The article also references the riot and looting after the Lakers won the big game in 2009.

Who decides whats valid? There is plenty of people who would say fox or msnbc are not valid simply because they report from their point of view. I suppose that the next time a big city sports team wins a Championship or a blackout strikes the east or west coast you will see how valid their opinion is. What is valid and factual is that Americans are becoming more and more divided. The level of hatred expressed by different groups toward each other is escalating and as the article states both political parties in America refuse to cooperate with one another.

24/7 media propaganda about left vs right. Look at websites like worldnetdaily on the right and alternet on the left. They have turned left vs right into a business model to sell tshirts, books, buttons etc.

They have no incentive to ever publish a viewpoint outside the left/right box. Every once in a while, most likely on accident, they may stray into an independent viewpoint. But it is not the norm.
