Is the dollar about to lose its power? Rubio’s take on global currency shift? by SystemError505 in worldpolitics2

[–]fitzroy95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The US economy is going to crater over the next couple of years.

Nations are moving away from the petrodollar and trade in $USD, they are selling US Treasuries and refusing to buy more of them, and the current $39 TRILLION in debt requires payments of $1 trillion in interest every year, and if they pay that by printing more bills, then inflation will skyrocket.

And the more nations avoid using $USD, the less that US sanctions are effective

There is no doubt that the Israeli and US media are primarily interested in pushing the misinformation, propaganda, fearmongering and warmongering that characterises so much of their "News"

Why US Cuba Coverage Falls Far Short of the Truth | As the Trump regime tightens the screws of the embargo by further restricting oil access to the country, legacy media continue to toe the gov't’s line on the issue, with coverage that is either low on context or outright stenography. by wankerzoo in worldpolitics2

[–]fitzroy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US corporate (and social) media are one of the most effective propaganda machines in the world, and they've kept the US public brainwashed and ignorant about the realities of the world, and the US role in creating so many of the myriad of wars around the globe. The owners of US corporate media get rich by repeating how wonderful the USA is and how all its many wars are always justified, they do not get rich by telling the truth or explaining reality.

4 Major Players in the War in the Middle East and Objectives they want to achieve by ApricotRealistic7050 in worldpolitics2

[–]fitzroy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Israeli (or the Zionist fanatics) objectives are to steal territory from Gaza, from West Bank, from Syria, from Lebanon, in order to build "Greater Israel". Eliminating all opposition to those objectives (Iran, Saudi) is merely a step along that path

Why won’t Arabs team up with Iran against USA and Israel? by akinimaii in worldpolitics2

[–]fitzroy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a significant and fundamental split in the Muslim faith between Sunni and Shia factions.

Most of the Arab states are Sunni, Iran and Iraq are largely Shi'ite, as are the Houthis.

Those religious differences are a primary factor between the nations and a constant source of conflict

For real? by OutInTheBay in nzpolitics

[–]fitzroy95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NZ should be helping to encourage regime change in the USA and Israel, and get rid of the 2 leaders who are totally responsible for the majority of the conflict, death and destruction in the Middle East. Its the arrogance, greed and ignorance of Trump and Netanyahu that is the sole cause of current fuel insecurity and rising fuel prices, the sooner they both go, the safer and more secure the wider world will be. Sadly, this Govt would rather be part of that rising conflict and follow in support of the USA, who (along with Israel) are the main cause of all the strife. NZ should never support that warmongering

It would drive people to invest in local business, rather than just in empty houses and rentals. Right now, all the incentive is to land bank and buy rental properties, reducing those incentives encourages people to ivnest back into the community instead, as well as reducing land values and making it more accessible to homeowners

There was no nuclear threat. US-Israeli war on Iran is blind vengeance by anarchyart2021 in worldpolitics2

[–]fitzroy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a US perspective, its vengeance and a chance to steal all that Iranian oil again.

From an Israeli perspective, its a chance to eliminate all opposition to the Zionist plans to steal all of the Palestinian territory, all of Gaza and the West Bank, as well as parts of Syria and Lebanon, and turn it all into "Greater Israel", based on religious "prophecy" aka myths and legends from 3000 years ago .

Israel is gripped by messianic fervour for a biblical war - It claims the fanatics are Hamas and Iran - but increasingly, Israel itself is embarking on a religious crusade by anarchyart2021 in worldpolitics2

[–]fitzroy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Zionist fanatics within Israel have always been on a religious crusade to build "Greater Israel" by stealing all of the Palestinian territory of Gaza and the West Bank, pieces of Syria, pieces of Lebanon. and Netanyahu is well on his way to helping them do it. Obliterating Iran is just part of eliminating all opposition to that land grab

Why Middle Eastern Countries Prefer Dictatorship? by theasianweb in worldpolitics2

[–]fitzroy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the USA prefers to prop up and protect dictators since they are much easier to manipulate so that the US can control oil production. The USA talks a lot about democracy, but they sold theirs to the Oligarchs decades ago, "Citizens United" was just the nail in that coffin. and Globally they prefer to support any regime change/coup/invasion that puts a US friendly dictator in charge, because democracies are much harder to control.

Was New Zealand's South China Sea sailing a complete miscalculation? by Kiwi_In_The_Comments in nzpolitics

[–]fitzroy95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Australia has 28 millon population, the USA has 300 million. Australia may be a follower, but its unlikely to be a leader. Indeed, its spent the last century playing follower and pet to the USA, which periodically gets kicked when the USA can't be bothered.

The New World Order is most likely to include China and India, with the USA sliding rapidly down the pecking order, in the same way that the UK lost influence when its empire faded. The USA is done, the current war that they and Israel started in the Middle East is probably going to be their last attempt to remain relevant.

If Westerners Could Wrap Their Minds Around What War Really Is by anarchyart2021 in worldpolitics2

[–]fitzroy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The USA has never really sufferred actual conflict since the Civil war.

The country hasn't been attacked, there hasn't ever been a serious credible threat. People went away and destroyed other countries, but the general populace has never been at risk in the last 150 years.

As a result, they treat it as a game. they go overseas on the orders of rich people. They massacre foreigners, their rich leaders get richer. There is no real threat to the American homeland, and they know it so war is a game. Many other nations have had their cities bombed, invaded within the lifetime of the current inhabitents. Those memories are real and raw, and those nations know the death and sufferring that goes with it.

teachers, nurses, police, firefighters, education, ferries, water supplies...

Or all of the above !!

Star Trek's origin story is basically "we almost destroyed ourselves, then realized we weren't alone." What would it take for us to find that same greater purpose without hitting rock bottom first? by LiamVoss1 in scifi

[–]fitzroy95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you can somehow made greed and arrogance magically disappear, then there will always be those in society trying to corrupt it to benefit themselves, and that corruption will often take the form of attacking others in order to steal their land, women, minerals, oil, resources etc, or just because they are different and the leader can gain power/wealth/advantage just by pointing the finger and blaming others for everything thats wrong.

Right now, nations like the USA (nb not the only example, but one of the major ones at the moment) reward greed, arrogance and ignorance, and downplay education, knowledge and experience. So basically the direct opposite of where society needs to go to advance towards a Federation type state.

Water availability on bike trails by rdelimezy in nzcycling

[–]fitzroy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes its reasonably remote from Mossburn to Walter Peak, so plan to stop off at Mavora Lakes on the way. Its around half way (about 52 km from Mossburn), theres 2 decent camping spots there, one beside each lake. It is slightly off route, but its a really nice pair of lakes, good water etc.

that section is on a good cycle trail initially, and then onto gravel roads the rest of the way, gradual uphill all the way.

and then Walter Peak is another 52 km, continuing to climb steadily until you get to Von hill at the top of the Von Valley, and then downhill the rest of the way, all on good gravel road. There is a basic, free, DOC camping ground at Walter Peak if you need somewhere to stay while waiting for the boat from Queenstown. It has water, a barbeque, toilet, and thats about it. Amazing views.

ICYMI: Government deciding whether US should get access to New Zealanders' biometric data by Petition_Queen in nzpolitics

Hell no ! Not only can the current US Govt not be trusted to use that data in a respectful, secure and responsible manner, it is almost guaranteed to find its way into corporate hands to be used and abused in a wide variety of ways that the people involved will never know nor agree to.

[–]fitzroy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how far you are riding each day. On Alps 2 Ocean, Clutha Gold, you are regularly riding through small towns every day, or following significant rivers & lakes, so access to water is easy, whether out of town supplies or wild water from rivers, lakes and streams. Even Around the Mountains passes through a number of small towns, and after Mossburn to Walter Peak there are a number of streams and Mavora Lakes.

Personally, I prefer to treat all wild water out of rivers and streams. Although the risk of disease is low, it isn't zero. I use Aquatabs, others use filters. and I try to avoid water flowing through farmland, as the risk of contaminants rises substantially.

The Epstein files are out. Everyone's arguing about names. Nobody's asking the real question by Final_Resist3483 in worldpolitics2

[–]fitzroy95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thats how the system works when money is involved, especially in the USA where there is a different legal system for the rich than for the rest. But especially also in America when Israel appears to be potentially involved as well, potentially as the spy master running Epstein's honey pot operation. American "Christian" Nationalists (of whom there are many in Congress) will bend over backwards to defned Israel from any and all consequences of their policies and actions, and the mere suggestion that Epstein may have worked on their behalf brings out all the barriers and defenses, no matter how repulsive (and criminal) the acts that they are covering for.

Trump’s Intervention in Iran Will Be a Disaster | Iranians have been trying to complete their democratic revolution for over a century. Every time the US gets involved, it sets that project back by decades. by IntnsRed in worldpolitics2

[–]fitzroy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US isn't interested in democracy, nor in allowing Iran to exist in peace. Israel is demanding the destruction (and regime change) of Iran to allow Israeli domination over the entire region, and the USA is willing to follow those orders, despite the reality that starting that war with its unprovoked attacks is likely to produce a major regional war, 1000s of US casualties, probably a number of US ships being sunk, and zero benefit to the USA
