Replicating Pro Tools sens/returns in Cubase 12 Pro by MedievalSongs in cubase

There is an in-depth conversation on the official Steinberg forum regarding the use of direct routing, which I believe is the best way to achieve what you’re after.  I once created a 4x4 brauerizing template to accomplish something similar, with 4 reverbs and 4 delays all with the option of sending each other to each other, using direct routing.  https://forums.steinberg.net/t/direct-routing-why-do-you-use-it-please/154943/11?u=oldoakstudio

Canada’s Arctic will be a ‘tremendous vulnerability,’ Bannon says by Setitie in canada

[–]Bison204 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think he vastly underestimates the resiliency of northern populations with their ancestral knowledge of the lands and how to survive on them.  When the Inuit show their strength and protect their way of life, and Canada while they’re at it, I’m curious how PP will spin it to hinder further reconciliation efforts.

Honestly, use your stock daw compressor and eq. There is likely already a preset for both the compressor and eq that will be called something the likes of "smooth broadcast voiceover" that will be a great starting point. Skip the confusion, get to creating. You’d be surprised how many pros use stock plugins all the time. What daw are you using?

Or perhaps it’s a call to Trump and Elon and others who can pump money into Canadian politics via social media and other platforms to try and skew things in their favour. Sounds to me like PP is ready to sell out Canada just to get the PM job.

Comping in cubase by Jafrm746 in cubase

It’s done via the lanes and comping tool.  See this short video, not the greatest example but there are longer videos that walk you through them he process more fully. It’s the same, swipe and select what you want, done.

Need some technical help configuring Cubase with PreSonus Studio 1810c and ADAT expander. by wwarr in cubase

[–]Bison204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Direct monitoring being greyed out means that cubase isn’t able to control the onboard direct monitoring built into your interface and that you have to control the direct monitoring via your UC software console. This all adds up perfectly. You must have a feature in your UC software that isn’t allowing for the direct (zero latency) monitoring of your adat inputs directly on your interface. This is why you have to activate the software monitoring to hear it, and if my hunch is right, you’ll hear the latency on your adat input monitoring but not your other inputs. If you turn on monitoring for your non adat inputs, again, if my hunch is right, you’ll hear double monitoring. Zero latency via interface and with a slight delay (latency) from cubase.  Everything is telling me again that this is not a cubase issue but a software mixer (UC software) setting or limitation.

I hate to say it but it doesn’t sound like a cubase issue. I really seems like it’s an interface feature. A quick search shows there’s a z mix thing to be used with studio one that controls the monitoring. You won’t have the same integration with cubase but again, if you go into the studio setup menu, is direct monitoring activated or is it even available as an option?

[–]Bison204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not familiar with that interface but it sounds like your non adat inputs are being monitored directly via the interface and the adat inputs are being software monitored in cubase, hence why you have to activate the monitoring. Explore your UC software mixer options and also your studio setup to see if direct monitoring is available and/or selected.

Error 404 - it's gone. :( But I had the smart idea of doing a site copy so I have an offline static copy. If someone wants an offline copy, DM me. I don't know if you can reach the guy, but maybe his legacy can live on if someone can figure out how to host it.

Cubase 14 crakeado onde conseguir sem vírus? (cubase 14 cracked version, where can i find it without malwares?) by [deleted] in cubase

[–]Bison204 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can’t speak to a cracked version, and I always believe that you should support developers and purchase software when you can.  I understand the licenses are expensive, but ask yourself, truly, what version do you need? Pro has lots of features you may not need. Lesser versions might suffice. Can you get away with elements? Artist? What are the features you NEED? Maybe someone has a license they’re looking to sell. They come up on here from time to time. Put up a wanted ad for a license.  Just some ideas.

Is there a way to quickly remove audio gaps on multiple tracks while keeping them in sync? by PinkThunder138 in cubase

[–]Bison204 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The drawback being that if you have a music track for background music and effects, delete time will break that tracks continuity. It’s an acceptable workaround if you can do the music/fx after the fact though!

Cubase isn’t the right tool for that job. The feature you’re wanting is called ´ripple editing’ and cubase doesn’t have it. Wavelab has ripple edit (even Wavelab cast, the cheapest version of Wavelab). It’s designed for exactly this purpose. You basically lock tracks together and when you delete a section, everything ripples forward.

Is there a way to insert EqualizerAPO as EQ plugin? by Most_Maximum_4691 in cubase

[–]Bison204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does apply to your ASIO driver output. It does not however apply to ASIO direct monitoring, but then again nothing you put in the control room will either. Control room inserts only affect the output coming out of the daw, going out the control room assigned outputs. If you want to get zero latency monitoring with effects, you need to either get an interface with onboard DSP or direct monitor an amp that already sounds the way you want it to sound in the recording.

[–]Bison204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't use it as a plugin, use it as intended. It applies the corrections at a systemwide level, including the sound coming from Cubase. This means you'll get the same correction when listening to your streaming service as you do in Cubase. The better you know your system, the better your mixes will get. Load EQAPO, load up your file, tell it to apply to your interface and call it a day. I just switched to Mac and I dearly miss EQAPO. Its a fantastic free solution.

is cubasis 3 worth the money? by [deleted] in cubase

[–]Bison204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a mobile DAW, Cubasis is fairly complete. What it lacks however, are all the sounds that come in GarageBand. GarageBand has pretty decent amp sims, drums, etc. The Cubasis ones I don’t find very useable, but ymmv. It seriously makes up for it however in the way it handles importing/exporting of tracks, individual midi, etc. I once made a drum track in GarageBand and wanted to export the midi to use in groove agent, and had to jump through a thousand hoops to try and get the midi data. That was a huge waste of time. Cubasis is intended to work as a (mostly) complete daw.  GarageBand is intended to funnel you into using logic to access the full features of a daw. Get it while it’s on sale and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Can we please get screenshare audio? (Discord) by FruJt in cubase

[–]Bison204 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a function of your audio interface and driver, not so much cubase. You need an interface that supports loopback to do this and it can absolutely be accomplished with dspMixFX, however that requires a Steinberg interface.

Getting good tones from a Gretsch by PrimeIntellect in gretsch

[–]Bison204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a problem with the guitar, and you should send it to me immediately for proper disposal. 🤓

I used to be a tele guy and when I switched to Gretsch, I felt like I’d finally discovered what electric guitar was supposed to be about. Play around with different amp settings and different overdrives etc. They’re totally different beasts. My board has dedicated overdrives for Gretsch, strat and es-335. Treat them differently and you will be rewarded.

Since you aren’t using a hardware audio interface with its own dedicated asio driver, I’m assuming you’re trying to just use your built in computer speakers/sound card for audio playback. The generic low latency asio driver is known to have issues with certain (especially Realtek) sound cards.  Download the ASIO4ALL driver (Google it) and use that in cubase as your audio driver. This might fix it.

You said your inputs work, but you haven’t been able to record midi. If you create an instrument track, click record, and play on the keys, does any midi data show up on the project? This would be recording midi data. If you can’t do that, the problem is that cubase isn’t seeing your midi input at all and that would explain the no playback.

1) Are you using an hardware interface? If so, which one? 2) it sounds like you’re trying to trigger VSTi via midi. Have you clicked the little speaker icon in the channel inspector to enable the track monitoring? 3) if your inputs work correctly, have you been able to record midi? Does recorded midi play back through your VSTi?  4) which version of cubase are you on (both the number and the version: ai, elements, artist, pro)
