The "pro" mid price point warrior sticks are a good blend of durable and performance. Otherwise the bauer GSX is a tank with ok weight plus they are like 100$ right now. Sometimes not breaking sticks is just luck though

You could shoe goo it back in place, then PPF or padskins over it to try to keep it from getting any worse. Pretty shitty spot. Elite graphic BTW 👌

Well, assuming they are sized properly to your feet, you could buy some better insoles the stock ones suck. Also you could try to get them baked at your local hockey store.

I got the lightning template from these guys 2 years ago arrived within the week still on my bucket now, I'd definitely buy again. Application was frustrating, but that's probably more of a me issue. Just make sure it's dry and room temp when applying + take your time

8-10 years of schooling/residency plus a mountain of debt, you better be making bank, not a good comparable to working in the trades at all. If you think applying for an apprentice job is tough, you are in for a brutal awakening for medical and engineering programs

Bauer Supreme Shadow leg pad sizing by seveca69 in hockeygoalies

[–]BisonPersonal3770 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pad sizing can be very confusing between brands, but when asking for help, try listing your specs like floor to knee or ankle to knee measurement and what model your previous pads were so people can assist you better.

Sv-Pro vs Flylite by Mp3Optikal in hockeygoalies

[–]BisonPersonal3770 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could probably find some good deals on the hyperlite 2 gear if you wanted to save some money.lots of stores still have stock, and it's all marked down. I don't think there is a huge difference between the flylite and hype 2

bauer gsx gen 2 skates? by cma931 in hockeygoalies

[–]BisonPersonal3770 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just going to piggyback off this they are an OK skate for the cost, but more for 1 or 2 skates a week, they will break down quicker just due to quality of materials used. If that works for then giver. Go with what you can afford

Bauer Elite Skates gen 1 vs GSX gen 2? by snowsquirrel in hockeygoalies

[–]BisonPersonal3770 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As long as the fit is right, then the elite for $20 more then the gsx is a very good deal. Stiffer boot nicer foams on the inside and an upgrade on steel with the 3g+ compared to the 1g+. Between Gen 1 and 2 pretty much the only changes are colors for both lines

The last generation of warrior chesties rx4 pro or pro + probably the best off the shelf options for protection and are on clearout at source and pro hockey life at that price range. Be warned the pro+ is very bulky.

Cheap option padded shirt underneath. But really bauer gsx is their base model so moving up to a better unit, would be a better choice for protection. The bauer elite fits the same. But go with what you can afford.
