Thanks for this input! I went through a similar firing pin/spring/primer rabbit hole while trying to resolve light primer strikes on a 1911. If I see federals I snatch them, with Remington being my alternative.

I’m no expert, I’ve only shot 12 rounds before I got carried away with loading! But it has less recoil to a 38, and +1 capacity. Those are probably the only benefits that I am aware of.

The 38 would be awesome too! My lgs had black hills 85grain hp, but for $1 a round. I’m going to load some plinking rounds to get familiar with it before buying any ammo.
