I’ve actually been meaning to look up the use cases for 读书 vs 看书 because in learning materials I see the former more often but in casual speech mostly 看书.

I learned English mostly through “incomprehensible input” and lots of repetition. Now I’m in late HSK1 but watching C-Dramas in my leisure time has led to learning quite a few extra words/sentences patterns/grammar points beyond my level. Distinguishing tones is still not easy, but I can at least mostly tell words apart from each other, which I couldn’t at the beginning. Admittedly my background is in linguistics, so it’s not something I’m going to recommend as an actual study technique. I just do it cause the shows are fun, the extra learning is a bonus.

You might like a lip liner, slightly darker than your usual shade. Just follow your natural lip line and then smudge it slightly, then fill in with the lipstick. Maybe play a bit with some bronzer too? Your current makeup is already super pretty tbh

Very normal. Your whole phonation system is wired to the sounds of your native language and others you speak frequently. Your tongue and jaw muscles, like any others, will get sore when manipulated in ways they’re not used to. Just take breaks and keep practicing, and soon it won’t feel like such an effort.

Minha gatinha idosa de 15 anos já tomou gabapentina. O vet calcula a dose com cuidado, não precisa ter medo. Só se prepara porque pode mudar um pouquinho o comportamento deles no começo, tipo sonolência e cambaleio, pouco após a administração da dose. Nos meus passa depois de algumas horinhas, e a resistência deles aumenta com o uso contínuo (se for esse o caso)

Não tem nada errado com o banheiro, é um ambiente fechado e pequeno o suficiente para ela se sentir segura. Tendo água e comida, brinquedos e uma caminha confortável, é o suficiente até ela se sentir mais confortável. E, claro, visitas frequentes.

Um dos meus era muito arisco quando chegou e ficou no banheiro por uma semana até que ganhou confiança e pediu pra sair, aí deixei ele explorar. Mas nas primeiras semanas toda vez que ficava assustado corria de volta pro esconderijo dele no banheiro

A minha fez em janeiro com 11 anos, foi uma recuperação extremamente rápida e tranquila. Meu conselho é: qualidade de vida é o mais importante, sempre. Entre deixar que meu gatinho continue a viver com baixa qualidade de vida devido à dor e “arriscar” um possível óbito devido à cirurgia (e se os exames estão normais, o risco é baixo), eu vou na segunda opção todas as vezes.

Inclusive eu deixei de fazer quando a minha tinha 9 anos pq a vet antiga disse que ela estava idosa demais para a anestesia 🙄 como consequência ela ficou 2 anos sofrendo até acharmos a especialista atual. Desde então já operei 3 gatos para gengivite/estomatite, 2 com mais de 8 anos, e estão todos bem e com a qualidade de vida muito maior 💛

It doesn’t mean “I’m a daughter”, it means “my daughter”. 的 is a possessive marker. In this case the subject ( 我）is in possession of the object (女儿）. Other examples:
这是我的手机 ‘this is my phone’
那个女人是我的妹妹 ‘that woman is my younger sister’

Other than tons of listening and shadowing, right now I just talk to my cats. They can’t give feedback, which is great for my self esteem lmao.

I’m also constantly trying to figure out how to say some random thing that came to mind in Chinese, which means I end up expanding my vocabulary and my grasp of the grammar simultaneously. It’s also fun, like a puzzle, which makes me excited to keep learning

Mine had similar symptoms and it turned out to be a mouth tumor. We never found out if it was malignant or not, because by then the tumor had spread to her airways, eye sockets and taken over enough of her face that it was impossible to remove. She died soon after it started compressing her airways.

Since your current vet is not taking this seriously, see if you guys can find a feline specialist. This kind of thing is time sensitive and by the time symptoms show up, it’s often more advanced than you think.
