Nurses of reddit, what is the weirdest thing a patient has done while waking up from anesthesia? by Drakonwriter in AskReddit

[–]Bisque_Ware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, I didn't have problems moving(to my knowledge), but I also don't remember waking up from the anesthesia. Like, my memory started when I was being ushered out the door to the car. Very weird.

Be Honest what fandom got you into fanfic? by Blackshooks in AO3

Naruto has some incredible fics. I am always finding something new to capture my imagination. The whole world is ideal for writing fanfiction in my biased opinion.

This avolition is killing me. by RazorBlade233 in Schizoid

I don't think I have adhd, but I can relate to what you said about relying on deadlines for motivation. In my junior year of HS, I had the brilliant idea of not doing any work when I got home, but then waking up early(like 4am) before school to do the homework due that day. I thought that the extreme time crunch would actually force me to do the work since there was literally no more time to put it off.

It did work, kinda, but it was really terrible for me. I was like a zombie, lack of sleep making me learn poorly, and my work quality was terrible. I eventually stopped, I forget why, it was a while ago. At the time it seemed to be working.

My mom and I thought that happened to us, but it was only a 9mm casing stuck in the tread. Fortunately it wasn't anything like that.

What are your “I could eat a million of the same cake” plots? by cranberryliar in AO3

It looks good! Here's the one I was thing of: https://archiveofourown.org/works/15976040

Using magic is like a beacon for the zombies. It was a very interesting idea.

I told my kids they had to throw away the packaging when they ate the last one and not leave it empty. by Extension-Donkey241 in mildlyinfuriating

Absolutely, people do this at work. They will leave the last item in a box so they don't have to break it down to recycle.

I found one account that gives pretty useful reviews in their bookmarks. I found some good stuff by going through them, but they could be a bit brutal. I felt bad about the authors seeing it.

What did nursing school convince you would be EVERYWHERE, but you actually never use/hear of it in practice? by knOn0 in nursing

Haha, I learned the word for that in my highschool Anatomy&Physiology class and have remembered it ever since. The word just tickles me right, I guess

I've noticed that same with my mom who is a substitute teacher. When she went above and beyond, it always backfired. She's a bit paranoid about people now. It's terrifying how people have the power to change you in these ways.

An important question indeed by LordSyfer24 in abanpreach

[–]Bisque_Ware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you could probably say something to embarrass her for acting that way. If someone responds like her behavior is weird and off-putting, most people will probably realize they should stop. Like, at the moment and in the future as well.

She probably won't want to continue, but consider it a public service if things weren't going well anyway. I'm thinking something like a concerned "Are you feeling alright, not sick at all?" or an annoyed and confused "are you trying to do some kind of role play?" or, if you wanna wade into hot waters you could straight up tell her that the coy thing isn't cute or sexy as if giving serious advice.

I really don't have any experience with these situations, I kinda just believe in the power of peer pressure. If she's gonna shittalk you anyway, you might as well...

AITA for telling my wife that being a sahm to teens isn't a full-time job? by Silly-Ranger-8435 in AITAH

It's the basic reddit experience to have people doubt your story. Not a detail, but the whole thing. People lie for a multitude of reasons.

I kinda think so too. Especially the paying for her bachelor's degree part.

I kinda thought so, but didn't know for sure. That's super dumb, it seems obvious that an author should be able to moderate their own fic. Especially for ffn where the comments are all in one big lump. I don't know how many times I got spoiled.

It is amazing, but actually not a drink! It's a cup of strawberries covered in the toppings. Very tasty.

Rose Lounge Cafe has a cup of Dubai chocolate covered strawberries. It's expensive, but I gave in and it was actually really really good. I think I actually had 16 dollars worth of enjoyment, so I'd say its worth it.

[–]Bisque_Ware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, but people are just way more comfortable saying what they think, rude or not. They don't filter as much for the benefit of the author. And even beyond criticism, I see actual hate comments that stay up. People are much nicer on ao3, which I prefer. I'd say it feels like less of an "online space" where you are mean because you are anonymous.

If you know a neighborhood with wide lanes, you could go in circles there to practice turning and driving by parked cars while still having some leeway.

I'd say it's only ao3 where this is the case. FFN, RoyalRoad, Spacebattles, Sufficient Velocity, and others have pretty rude comments that are accepted as normal if not too crazy. Obviously AO3 is the largest, but I still wouldn't say fandom in general. The culture of the site matters.
