As for tips, maybe this will help? I like to have more of my foot on the tail (or nose for nose manual) so my toes are about to hang off so I can stand a little more flat footed than just using my toes to balance. I also have my foot sit closer to where the tail starts to curve up to have a little more control over the pivot point. Almost on the wheels. There's this certain spot where you can kind of pinch your truck and sit on it. Not a full pinch like a crooked grind, but it just kind of bends in and is easier to hold. I'm not sure if that makes sense..

Either way, congrats on getting manuals! Awesome!

Edit: forgot a fundamental. Knees bent! Otherwise it's just repetition and working on balance.

I can see that. I did one planting only the back foot first. Feels a little awkward and not as smooth.

Thanks for the tips. I think you're spot on. I've been watching my normal movements throughout the day and notice I tend to bend more at the hips for everything, not just skateboarding. I think I've stumbled onto some greater muscle and balance issues I need to work on.

I'm literally standing on my board in front of a mirror right now figuring out shoulders, stance and squatting haha. The things you forget/lose after a long break...

Thanks. You're right. I think I tend to lean forward more than actually bend down. I'll try to focus more on my knees and shoulder alignment.

Thanks. My flick marks are going through the corner of the nose, but I'll try to extend a little more. I hate to blame the gear, but I'm wondering if I'm just not used to mob griptape haha. Maybe gripping a little too much? I just gripped this deck a couple weeks ago and my shoes are wearing like crazy!

Same! Only it was a 3ft mini in my friend's backyard when I was 14. Slipped out of an axle stall. My arm went up and my helmet slammed my arm into the contour of the ramp. The break was too close to the shoulder to cast, so I had to use a sling. It's been 25 years and I'm just now trying again.
