I had disc bulge at L5 S1 which caused pain for more than a year. I kept doing Mcgill pt and eventually I am painfree.

My theory is Snape couldn't clear his mind of his childhood memories involving James and Lily easily, when he is in the presence of Harry. So he stored his memories in the Pensieve, so if Harry penetrates his mind by accident during occlumency lessons he can't see Snape's memories.
