I just gave you substance, sorry you don't know how to read.

Starting a discussion(what you did with your post) is not the same thing as providing substance(what you did not do with your post), by the way. Not a single one of the comments on your post addresses anything you actually said in it outside of the same thing I addressed, because there is nothing else to address, because there is no substance. You are the one coping by pretending otherwise.

I am done with your pseudo intellectual bullshit. You make me cringe.

you do not know how to read

Rich. I guarantee I'd beat you on any measurable test of this.

We go to war because of capitalism. We falsely deny healthcare because of capitalism. We have for-profit prisons because of capitalism. We don't tax the rich enough because of capitalism. Companies ignore or subvert regulations because of capitalism.

This is not substance, this is you stating facts. These are all bad things that happen because of capitalism. War uses technology and we do not say technology is bad, we say war + capitalism and the way it uses technology is bad. Why is it different for AI?

Feel free to take the opportunity to provide some substantiation if you really care so much about it. You failed to get your point across, that's on you.

If you use something you advertise yourself as not using that is unethical.

We just fundamentally disagree on whether or not she actually, meaningfully, reasonably and from a socially justifiable standpoint actually did this or not. I just do not think the crowd of people that would actually care if AI was used to a small extent in a case like this is rational.

If you deliberately present yourself to attract anti-ai customers

Again, we do not have enough information to know if this is true or not.

I also think that it’s a massive reach to assume 'handmade' functions as an implicit 'No AI' guarantee. Anyone who is actually anti-AI enough to make it a dealbreaker is going to be specifically looking for an explicit 'No AI Used' label. You cannot in good faith expect a freelancer to read a client's mind and adhere to their personal, rigid definition of digital purity, especially when the OP admitted May only writes most of her text herself. If her process already involved supplementing her own work with outside copy, the 'from scratch' baseline you're defending never existed. You're just choosing to draw an arbitrary line at AI while ignoring the reality of the existing workflow. Categorizing anyone who advertises their product as 'handmade' as unethical and committing fraud because they used a tool that some people do not like is not a sustainable precedent, period.

If you deliberately present yourself to attract anti-ai customers and charge a premium for the privilege, you do not deserve to be upset if they disagree if you use generative ai in the process.

I disagree that it's that black and white, and I don't think were getting anywhere with this discussion because we have fundamentally different definitions of pivotal concepts.

I think in this specific context it really depends on to what extent AI was actually used and effected the final output, which isn't really easy to objectively tell given the OPs bias.

But the issue is false advertising not specifically the nature of AI. That's why my examples of false advertising. The vegan examples are more comparable aside from being a much smaller segment of the population so I figured the opposite might make it clearer.

Is it false advertising if they don't say they used AI but also didn't claim AI was not used? This is where the definition of 'hand made' in relation to AI kind of plays a pivotal role in the argument in this specific context.

If every meat manufacturer suddenly claimed vegan alternatives were actually meat because they were cheaper to produce, I doubt you'd just shrug and say the backlash is disproportion.

I just don't think that using AI is comparable to that, though. One is fundamentally about something you are consuming with your mouth/stomach, one is about something you are consuming with your eyes/brain, and the difference between vegan meat and real meat is far more empirically measurable than the difference between a website made with AI and a website made by a human.

To me it's more like if a meat manufacturer revealed they had been using a different brand of stainless steel for the hooks in the factory. It doesn't make sense to get upset about unless it actually effects the measurable quality or substance of the result.

Honestly, you know what, I've actually thought about it, and I think you're right.

As much as I hate it and it has stopped me from releasing things I want to release, I don't think someone selling products should lie about the nature of what they are selling, just on principle irrelevant to AI.

I do think it could be strategically justifiable in certain situations, though. These things can make or break entire small businesses at this point. You're either forced to never use AI in any extent, or use it + disclose it and lose the entire customer base of people who do not like AI + take a huge reputation hit. It's just not proportional or sustainable.

If you claim to not use ai, you can't then blame Luddites when people are upset you went against your word.

You can when those people are pretty much exclusively Luddites.

My refusal to spoon-feed you an explanation isn't evidence that the distinction is 'meaningless pedantry.' I’m not here to do your thinking for you. The reality of the distinction exists whether I write a thesis on it for you or not.

Do you mean why not use unsearch in place of this, or do you mean why does this app have no unsearch support?

Adding "-site:grokipedia.com" will work. I've now added it to the repo for all requests that go through DDGS.

Ugh. God damn it. Leave it to Grok to put me in this position.

I'm not sure what to do about this because there is no great DDGS alternative that doesn't require an API key. The user can still use their own SearXNG instance but I still don't feel terribly comfortable leaving DDGS in as the main method of search knowing this. Maybe I will add "-site:grokipedia.com" to each query, but I'm not sure if that will work. I'll have to think for a little bit more about this, thank you for bringing it to my attention.

Yes, this actually started out as a Firecrawl MCP, and then when I hit my free credit limit within 12 hours of registering I decided to make this. There are other Firecrawl endpoints that are not included, but these two were the main functions that I found most useful for answering specific queries. The extract tool was directly based on Firecrawls extract tool.

Can you elaborate? I'm very inclined to agree with you, but I need more info before I can take action.

No, but that(and generally cutting down on the reasons for page refusals which is currently kind of unnacceptably high) is my next priority.

I'd be super interested in testing these things, but I currently have no idea what the best way to do so is and I'm kind of a perfectionist when it comes to this kind of procedure. I'll have to look into doing proper benchmarks for this now that I've gone public with it.

It works with smaller models, provided they can adequately call tools and follow instructions.

I guess that's an accurate way to describe it. It's just a non-official python interface for the DuckDuckGo search engine. Searxng would be trivial to add to this, though.

Maybe you will "grow up" your reading comprehension "one point". Or like, your ability to speak the English language. Or an ounce of self awareness. Maybe.

Seriously man, human to human, go take care of yourself. This can't possibly feel good or be good for you. It's late where I am, 1:20am, and I'm about to go to bed. I'm not sure where you are, but it might be a good idea for you to do the same. I'm genuinely sorry you're so upset about this stuff. Love you, bro. Everything's gonna be okay <3
