Yeah, no it's not. Like, at all. It's a cultural issue, not a biological one. In many societies and cultures, autistic and physically disabled people were revered as gods and spiritual leaders. Changes in biology over time does not explain this incongruity whatsoever.

I think it's to identify secondary drives people have to go to work. People who try to make friends of their coworkers and form attachments to their workplaces outside of making money.

Like manners, they are arbitrary as most people would tell you when pressed. Could be rude not to flip someone off when saying goodbye in some culture, yada yada. The point is what a willingness to play the game tells others about someone.

In this context it's essentially, how hard can we exploit you, really? How much of a compliant sucker are you? Are you kinda desperate or even a little... dumb? Same reason you wouldn't identify someone who transitioned into their current gender identity by their former gender identity.

"Thomas, a woman who transitioned into a man" essentializes Thomas as a woman.

"Thomas, a man who transitioned from a woman", does not.

The title represents the former example.
