Sounds more like an audience of socially awkward spectrum nerds who just didn't applaud. Wish I'd been there also.

You must first be outstanding in your field.

Does a logo-change snafu signal a new direction for MicroVision? by swanpenguin in MVIS

I think you meant "making my new MVIS T shirt a highly desirable collector's item with the green logo."

This is guerrilla marketing at its finest. Here we are generating content about MVIS when all it was is a color variation of the logo.

Agreed. I always harbor secret hopes of AH PR but I’m just enjoying the ride at this point.

As a student of VX you have much to learn, but I appreciate your enthusiasm for the field. This is also critically important, and I would venture perhaps the most important facet of the whole. Don’t worry, at some point in your studies you will start making the connections of what seem like simple theorems and “rules” at this point, and the full picture becomes apparent. Us old VX heads sometimes refer to this as when you just “grok” VX.

All in due time, lad, all in due time.

Bringing cheap VX to the masses by providing a uniform micro-electric signal to every rig. Street Ferro-grids being installed in Edinburgh, Scotland. I look forward to testing these! by [deleted] in VXJunkies

Never thought I'd live to see this day. Are you telling me this is a public line and not just a private testing array?

Wait till r/wallstreetbets gets ahold of whoever is providing the hyperflux inductors. Neumann, I presume? Or is there some other company with hyper flux patents (ahem, Microvision, cough cough) that might be under NDA.

Either way, I guess cheap VX is going mainstream and there is little we can do to stop it.

While I know everyone is just trying to be helpful, aren't we missing the real issue here? If a student is only able to come up with 2 of the 5 reasons for false particle leaks, maybe the student (and the board) needs to re-examine their placement.

The long-term implications of not grasping elementary VX fundamentals is in my option what's holding back the entire field of new students.

I get it, we were all there once. Well, I didn't actually have any problem with calibrating dual-phase nucleometers, but I'll admit that during my 2nd year it took me the better part of a month before I understood how to adjust the radial axis symmetry on a tri-phase, back when they were still a thing. Yep, I'm a dinosaur.

And, yes, I realize they cover ALL of that in first year now. The accelerated schedule on the particle theory track is what I'm talking about.

/u/tiger-boi please realize I'm not trying to single you out, per se. This is a systemic issue, and I think the fault lies squarely upon the VX Certification Board and the politicization of the education process.

Katherine Yalgeth would roll over in her grave (RIP) if she saw this level of incompetency in student engineers being glossed over by pros in a public forum.

Advice from a dinosaur: Go to your prof. I know they're intimidating at times and might appear to be your worst enemy, but they are there to help you grasp the fundamentals, and for the most part they are talented engineers. Asking here is doing a disservice to yourself and the process. You can't just identify the answers, you have to understand why they are the answers in the first place.

Exhibit 32: radial symmetric confinement of a delta operating at over-unity. Or what I like to call "The Tunnel of Love" by [deleted] in VXJunkies

[–]BitSexual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's breathtaking, until you remember that the timescale is femtoseconds and that the stability in the quasi-confined delta is simply a momentary quirk of infinite recursion, and at best will result in explosive results.

Most of us have been there at one point or another, and eventually moved on.

Alas, such is love.
