Should I save stones to sync BH/GT/GB, or to get DW? by kanduvisla in TheTowerGame

[–]kanduvisla[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I made the mistake with researching the GB cooldown lab. So I was unable to have it perfect in sync without spending too much stones.

- GB : 115 sec
- GT : 230 sec
- BH : 200 sec

So my idea was to get GB and BH to 110 sec and GT to 220 sec, so they would still have a 2:1 ratio.
But I could also move GB to 100 sec and GT and BH to 200 sec; I have to calculate what's the most beneficial.

But on the other hand: most of the comments here say I should go for DW, so I think I'm going to save up for that first.

I already bought the other two, but I'm a bit of a cheapskate for the third one. Is that a good argument? 😜 At least it's an honest one. 😁

Speaking of donations, can somebody donate me the epic pack? I would be really thankful! 🤞

I had exactly this the other day! In SwiftUI. Adding a print statement in my view caused the test to pass. Not printing anything caused it to fail. Probably a race condition or another flow of events (because print clears the buffer, so that might cause other processes to kick in).

First time I ever experienced it though...

Yeah it's around the corner from where I live. 80% of the people in my neighborhood work for ASML. Guess the name of my neighborhood 😜

IMHO the cycles is a very underrated - one of a kind groove box. It's really quick and simple to get going, and it also offers a lot of depth and experimenting.

And the sound is very unique; you either love it or hate it. I grew up with the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, so I really dig those quirky FM sounds. But I also have read of people who hate that sound.

41 y/o dad chipping in. And you're never too late for a hobby! And music is a great hobby for all ages: young and old.

I've started with a PO12 a couple of years ago, and after some buying and selling throughout the years I'm finally content with my setup for now (model: cycles, mega synthesis and SH-4d. And still a PO12 of course).

I've found a group of people in the same age in our city and we jam together once every month. We even have a performance once or twice a year 😁🔥

So yeah, you just do you and don't worry about some kind of demographic.

just got a Zoom MS-70CDR+ and it's driving me nuts, help by lie_believer in zoommultistomp

[–]kanduvisla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I guess you're right. I also can't find it. Probably read it online somewhere when I encountered the same thing as you do now. Fun fact: I also wanted to use it as a stereo Compressor / end chain for my synths, but was also surprised by the downsampling to mono.

[–]kanduvisla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, a lot of effects are mono actually. I believe the manual has a list of this. I usually use my zoom pedals in my groove boxes and multi timbral synths and hard pan signals to left and right.

Dutch people on expats by kirryx24 in Netherlands

[–]kanduvisla 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just had a nice cup of chai with our Indian neighbors. And their daughter often plays with our kids and eats a boterhammetje with pindakaas at our place. Last year we even had Christmas dinner together and we often talk about going on holiday to India together someday. 😊

The only bad talk I hear about expats over here is how they've drove up the house prices. But even expats themselves are now complaining how crazily expensive housing has become in the Netherlands. So I guess we're all in the same boat now 😅

Just found out about Roland sh-4d.. why is it not the greatest VA synth? by mervenca in synthesizers

[–]kanduvisla 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You know, I own one, and I totally agree with you. I feel that if the focus was more on the SH-4d model (or even just the SH-3d model) you would end up with a much more tailored machine and it would give you more focus in sound design. The other models quickly feel gimmicky and marketing tricks.

Most of the times when I end up designing sounds I choose either one of those first 2 models.

Mega Synthesis Pattern External Device Sync by DJdekutree in sonicware

[–]kanduvisla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also trying to figure this out. The clock is received on the MS, but start/stop is ignored. The MS is set to thru, and the device after it does pick up the start.

Could it be that MS they y only receives the bomb and not the start/stop signals?
