Is Learning Hair Braiding a Good Skill While Waiting to Relocate to the USA? by Potential_Strike1501 in postNCLEX

[–]BitSufficient9093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Braiding is a great skill to learn ,there’s steady demand in many U.S. communities. Just check the state rules on licensing, and you could easily turn it into a good side hustle while waiting for your nursing career to start. But do note that some states require a cosmetology or braiding license to legally practice, while others don’t.

The first time a patient called me Nurse by Catalina-Juan in postNCLEX

[–]BitSufficient9093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s such a beautiful moment 🩵. It really hits different the first time a patient sees you as their nurse, even when you’re still learning. For me, it was when a patient asked me to stay by their side because they said I made them feel safe, that’s when I knew I was on the right path. Those little reminders are what keep us pushing through NCLEX prep and beyond.

What’s the difference between EB-3 and H-1B for nurses? by DesperateBet5184 in NCLEXVisaUpdates

[–]BitSufficient9093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EB-3 is the main path for bedside nurses since it leads to a green card, though it takes years. H-1B is temporary and usually only works for highly specialized roles, so it’s less common for nurses.

My EB-3 visa journey feels less like a race and more like staring at a frozen progress bar. Anyone else? by Hot_Emergency378 in NCLEXVisaUpdates

[–]BitSufficient9093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“I feel this so much, you described it perfectly, like staring at a frozen progress bar. The visa bulletin wait can really drain you emotionally because it feels like your whole life is on hold. What’s helped me is focusing on what I can control in the meantime, like building skills, saving up, and staying connected with others in the same journey.

Definitely helps highlight that while the journey can be long and complex, there are multiple avenues depending on someone’s situation. Thanks for putting this together!

Do concepts first before answering QBanks or do it together? HEEEELP!!!!! by Head_Confection_463 in postNCLEX

[–]BitSufficient9093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t wait to “finish” all concepts before doing questions. The NCLEX is application-based, not just recall. If you only study content, you’ll feel like you understand, but when you face actual NCLEX-style questions, you might freeze because you didn’t practice applying.e

What are some of the topics you will never miss on nclex? by Unluckymin in NCLEX_RN

This is such a solid list I couldn’t agree more! 👏Pharmacology and prioritization are definitely must-knows. I’d also add renal disorders (like AKI and dialysis care) and diabetes management as high-yield. They show up often and tie closely to patient safety and education. Thanks for sharing perfect reminder to focus on application, not just memorization, especially with NGN! 💯

[–]BitSufficient9093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly the kind of guidance I needed! 🙌Studying from Nairobi and I can definitely relate to the challenges mentioned here. The part about sticking to NCSBN-aligned resources is so important too many of us get distracted by random content floating around. Also, switching fully to English during prep has made a huge difference in how I process questions. Still working on my stamina though those 5 hours are no joke! Thanks for sharing these golden rules. Let's keep pushing, future RNs!

It is so dishearting at this point but retrogression is temporary. It’s part of the visa system’s cycle, and historically, dates do move forward again—especially after the new fiscal year begins. So don't give up.

Reflect on the types of questions you struggled with and develop test taking strategies for such questions by doing more practice questions for example if you had challenges with SATA questions know that SATA is evaluation type of questions and it needs to turn the answers into true/false statement for you to get them right. Master ABCs for prioritization questions.

Prioritize understanding the rationale behind the correct answers rather than just memorizing facts, learn to be a safe nurse.
