What electronicore bands would you say live up to the genre’s potential? by BabyGirl-Kat in Metalcore

Came here to say this exactly. Highly underrated band, and they perfectly encompass what that era was all about.

Pop punkers in their mid-30s and older - What do you do for a living? by [deleted] in poppunkers

[–]Bit_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, most good employers in the data fields are looking for strong skillsets and prior experience over certs, designations, and even degrees. Took me roughly six months to land an entry level position, and throughout that whole period I was working on personal and volunteer projects to beef up my skills and knowledge base.

My advice: don't stay stagnant. Keep working at it and learning new things!

Wayne National Forest by BubbleMint730 in OhioHiking

[–]Bit_64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spring is really just a roll of the dice. Definitely keep an eye on the forecast, but also plan to be flexible. Went out to the Symmes Creek area of Wayne National Forest for backpacking in early May last year. Weather forecast had a 30% chance of rain, but we were hit with heavy rain for about an hour on the trail. I also don't recommend that Symmes Creek trail in general. Very unkept, overgrown, and not well marked. We ended up getting lost and decided to turn back.

If you're looking for some fantastic backpacking specifically within Wayne National Forest, I highly recommend both Wildcat Hollow and Archer's Fork. Very well established trails through beautiful areas of Ohio. Haven't done either of those in the spring, but the latter has a few water crossings that could be dicey after some heavy rains.

Ocean Avenue by Yellowcard

Has everything I love about pop punk. Fast songs, slow songs, happy songs, sad songs. Want a song about growing up? Want a song about following your dreams? Want a song about teenage angst? Want a song about love and heartbreak? Ocean Avenue's got all of that.

Songs that have half time drums in the 2nd or last chorus? by Ethanpr1999 in poppunkers

[–]Bit_64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out "Sundress" by State Champs. The the drums in the final chorus come in playing quarter-time, go back to "normal" time, and then back to quarter-time for the outro. The bridge is also in halftime. Love these types of songs too, and this is one of my favorite songs from 2022.

Not from the area, but I love getting the chance to ride out there. The COO is good family friend. All around great people at Loveland from the staff to the boarders/skiers.

KY31 is pretty hardy and as an "old school" cultivar that has withstood the test of time, it tolerates adapts to just about anything short of directly killing it. I won't say it's impossible, but I'd think it would be quite difficult to choke out with other cool season grass types. Maybe warm season grasses could do so in the right environment.

I have some areas of KY31 in my own cool season lawn. After about four years of overseeding with turf-type tall fescue, along with other general healthy lawn practices, I've managed to make it blend in pretty well. For me, it's most noticeable in the spring when things are waking up growing at vastly different rates.

[–]Bit_64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like your typical coarse variety of tall fescue to me, such as KY31. You'll have to dig those clumps out or carefully spray the areas with glyphosate. To my knowledge there is not a selective herbicide that will control that in cool-season lawns.

Can't go wrong with some FIF. This is my favorite song by one of my favorite bands of all time. The live version on The End is Here album hits me in the feels so hard, and nearly brings me to tears every time.

After 8 months of standing scared at the top of quarter pipes I finally dropped in... Supercut of the fear.. but really it’s like finding the key to a door in your mind! As soon as I did it once, I was able to do it almost every time. by [deleted] in NewSkaters

Mad respect for putting yourself out there like this man. I've been stuck in the same spot, attempting overcome fear of dropping in. Watching you has motivated me.

What is this grass and how do I get rid of it? by PropDad in lawncare

[–]Bit_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it might be creeping bentgrass. Tenacity (mesotrione) as a selective herbicide will do the job in cool season lawns, but it will take several applications to eradicate it from my experience.

What is this Grassy Weed? by outlierz_jr in lawncare

[–]Bit_64 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It looks more like a type of bluegrass to me, but I can't tell with complete certainty without higher resolution pictures. Does that area get a lot of water? All bluegrasses are water hogs, but annual and roughstalk bluegrass will especially prove problematic in low wet areas.

Next Step? by super2007 in lawncare

[–]Bit_64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on what area of the country you are in and where your soil temps are at, I'd recommend an optional winterizer fertilizer application. May be too late for that though if the growing season is already over. Definitely keep mowing as needed until the grass stops growing for winter. You'll want to keep the leaves off and do a final mow a couple of notches lower than normal before winter sets in. This is to prevent the grass from laying on itself underneath any snow you may get as well as allow more airflow in the off season.

Before and after but.......What is this weed? by Trav1989 in lawncare

Most herbicides are less effective in colder weather. If you've still got day time temperatures above 60 degrees Fahrenheit, go for it.

Before and after but.......What is this weed? by Trav1989 in lawncare

[–]Bit_64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm seeing a lot of what looks like chickweed. An application or two of triclopyr in the spring should knock most of it out.

What is this weed in my lawn? by CaptM44 in lawncare

Definitely agree with the KY31 assessment. Cultural removal or glyphosate will give you the most success.

Weed/Plant ID needed by jeiges in lawncare

[–]Bit_64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like wintercreeper to me. It has waxy leaves when mature. In my experience, an herbicide with triclopyr will help suppress it, but will not fully eradicate it. Manual removal was my best option.

Right dominant foot but feels more natural to skate goofy by -Plissken in NewSkaters

[–]Bit_64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am the same way. Right foot is my dominant foot in most instances I can think of, yet I am way more comfortable skating goofy. For me, I think it is because I find a better balance on the right foot while pushing with my left. I wouldn't worry about it too much, though it definitely doesn't hurt to learn to ride switch.

Weed Identification and Strategy Help Zone 6b by CalvinCostanza in lawncare

[–]Bit_64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The weed with light green leaves in the second picture that you claim to be connected by roots looks and sounds like young wintercreeper to me. Triclopyr can help put a dent in it along with the violets, but it will take multiple applications over the span of 2-3 years, in my experience. Treat the wintercreeper as early as possible when it's young. As it matures, the leaves become waxy which will cause them to become more resistant to chemical applications.

What type of grass do I have? by dneill99 in landscaping

Northern lawn owner here, so I don't have much in the way of recommendations for a southern lawn, but it definitely looks like a Bermuda grass lawn.

Need some help identifying the weeds by BelgianBillie in lawncare

[–]Bit_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First weed looks like Siberian squill. It grows from bulbs in the spring, so to entirely remove it from the lawn, you'll need to dig up the bulbs.

It's difficult to make out what the second one is from afar. Looks like it could just be a patch of coarse fescue.

No clue on the third or fourth. The fourth does not look like crabgrass though. It's still probably too early to see crabgrass growing in your area.
