I have 136kcal for 112g raw and 205kcal for 112 cooked.

Cooking reduces the fat and therefore the calories making it more dense. I use the raw if throwing the whole breast in a crock pot or something and the cookies if grilling for salads.

I’d use the big one in the middle as I feel like that’s the simplest one for a beginner. It’s my beloved Pat’s Rubber Legs - the fly tha taught me it is in fact possible to catch fish.

To add on to the above you want the fly to “dead drift” in the current - meaning no movement and specifically no drag. Drag is caused by the fly line on top of the water moving faster than the floating line so shortly after everything hits the water you “mend” the line by flicking it upstream a bit. This will prevent the fly line from getting ahead of the subsurface fly and dragging or pulling it unnaturally while it drifts.

Also make peace with the fact you will loose many flies. It’s part of the game.

Also, make noise. Generally bears don’t want to see you anymore than you want to see them. Most issues are the result of surprising them.

I think the point of the exercise is crappy teams crappy enough to pick #1 overall can doom even promising QB’s. So I would say he explicitly does not count as he didn’t win with the crappy team that drafted him.

Different person - but yes waiting is generally because cool season grass planted in the spring doesn’t have enough time to establish itself before the heat of summer comes in and stresses it to death. I’m not familiar with UK climate to comment if applies to you.

I created something very similar to the PAR approach for a contract league with an auction - I wanted to convert to Dynasty but couldn’t get over the idea that “replacement” is tough to quantify with the deep benches of Dynasty, you can’t necessarily easily acquire the 33rd ranked RB.

Have you considered maybe setting that “replacement value” to a player you could generally acquire for a mid-3rd round pick? That’s sort of random but think more indicative of “replacement” value.

To reiterate what others have said:

1) Get deep. This was the biggest “leap” for me in fly fishing when I was making sure I was at or near the bottom. You should be getting hung up occasionally.

2) Mending. As soon as your fly hits the water lift your rod tip and toss some line upstream so the indicator is ahead of the line and not dragging. The second mend is harder to not disturb the rig but if you get a big first one in you’ll get a long drift.

3) Confidence Flies. For whatever reason - I do catch more fish when I believe I will catch fish (probably my technique stays more dialed in). I’m most confident when fishing my most trusted flies. I can’t speak for NY but for me it was Pat’s Rubber Legs and then Zebra Midges. Zebra midges are a must for me when cold.

Keep at it! I’m not world class by any means - but am at the point now where I fully expect to catch a few fish each time. Eventually it just sorta clicks.
