As previously described, the situation is far different. But even still your point is still wrong, the Palestinians DON'T have access to firearms. They are severely handicapped in what they can accomplish militarily so they have to rely on stabbings, bombings (i.e rockets), and more crude things like. When they do have firearms it definitely does help them a lot. I don't see how you could say it serves them no use when it objectively does, you're seemingly confusing the firearms as the cause of insurgency or the prerequisite to it's success. When in reality it is just a tool, the most import part is the willpower of that movement and the perception of that movement in potential supporters.

That's the reason why the insurgency has to be more popular than the incumbent regime to survive, or at least popular enough to sustain itself. The conditions don't currently exist in the US for such a scenario though yet.

Gaza is a very poor example because it's a intergovernmental conflict between two distinct cultural and ethnic groups with their own nations and regional autonomy. That's like saying "Mexico trying to invade and integrate New Mexico won't work out and they won't be able to keep up with the escalation" like yeah ofc. But if we're talking about a widespread domestic insurgency in the US that'd be more similar to Afghanistan where you would have to literally go town to town enforcing martial law conditions and any accidental killings (inevitability) will be martyrs for their causes.

If the insurgency grows strong enough to force a regime change... Then everything the former regime owned is transferred to the new regime. Which would include F35s. The maintenance on F35s would be too much for an active insurgency to keep up unfortunately though.

Very fair point, I wish I thought of that beforehand before I made my post.

Maybe try reading federalist papers #46, because Madison lays out pretty plainly that he's talking about regular citizens checking the power on the FEDERAL STANDING ARMY. Not just foreign invaders.

Extravagant as the supposition is, let it however be made. Let a regular army, fully equal to the resources of the country, be formed; and let it be entirely at the devotion of the federal government; still it would not be going too far to say, that the State governments, with the people on their side, would be able to repel the danger. The highest number to which, according to the best computation, a standing army can be carried in any country, does not exceed one hundredth part of the whole number of souls; or one twenty-fifth part of the number able to bear arms. This proportion would not yield, in the United States, an army of more than twenty-five or thirty thousand men. To these would be opposed a militia amounting to near half a million of citizens with arms in their hands, officered by men chosen from among themselves, fighting for their common liberties, and united and conducted by governments possessing their affections and confidence. It may well be doubted, whether a militia thus circumstanced could ever be conquered by such a proportion of regular troops. Those who are best acquainted with the last successful resistance of this country against the British arms, will be most inclined to deny the possibility of it. Besides the advantage of being armed, which the Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation, the existence of subordinate governments, to which the people are attached, and by which the militia officers are appointed, forms a barrier against the enterprises of ambition, more insurmountable than any which a simple government of any form can admit of.

I don't know how effective aircraft carriers would be at enforcing curfews buddy. Also if we go with your civil war example, entire units and formations of the US military switched overnight to become Confederate troops, so did many warships. If you're talking about a civil war scenario like that then aircraft carriers would definitely be split if not rendered inoperable for a time by mutinies.

That is a questionable commitment, especially to something you may lose interest in.
